Bringing back an old thread but just wanted to post a couple updates.

Picked up a 19" WS Westinghouse LCD and Logitech bluetooth keyboard with mouse. Also got a Geek Squad UPS to keep things running when the power goes out.

Nice, I've been looking at those label printers, will have to check out that Canon.

How do you like your Westinghouse? I got my 19" on sale for $149, sure does beat the 12" laptop screen.

The Canon isn't officially sold with CD label printing capability in the US. You can buy the CD tray on Ebay for about $15 and then all you have to do is change the printer to European mode and install the UK version of the drivers. Instructions are HERE It works great. I Chose Canon because they seem to have the best print quality and the lowest ink prices. The ink tanks in my printer hold much more ink than those in my old HP printer and they cost much less. Having six ink tanks is actually a nice thing. Instead of replacing one big color cartridge even if only one color is gone you only replace the one that is actually gone.

I am very impressed with the Westinghouse. I actually have two of them. The older one is on my old PC. The newer one is a definite improvement with much better black levels, viewing angles, and light uniformity. At $250 I don't think they can be beat.

Figured I might as well post my system. I just recently upgraded...

I'm not going to list everything because I don't want to make anyone feel inferior to what I've got going on at my house...

My main computer, which I just recently upgraded, is an all-in-one style computer. I didn't feel the wireless style or corded style were necessary. It just tangles things up and could interfere with the printer. I don't have a mouse because it kept interfering with the power supply.

photo 2 - power supply
I'm thinking of upgrading my power supply to a metal wheel. It should then create a larger magnetic field and therefor more energy. I like to work "off grid" when I can. BTW, I connect via USB2.0 for the fastest energy transfer possible.

The modem has been acting up lately. It seems slow. I'm still trying to find the best type of encryption because my private information keeps getting stolen when I send anything over the internet. It's like everyone knows what type of encryption I'm using.

It didn't actually cost me anything. I asked one of the local kids what his favorite graphics card was. The kid just asked me for a popsicle from the ice cream man and handed it over. Aren't these expensive?!
It works best when I actually place it on the keyboard. Much more stable and it has yet to crash my system when I use it!

If you notice, this is a wireless printer. Not very many people can say that!

Pat's Sound System for the Computer

I'm actually gonna bi-wire these. I'm either going to end up using sets of y-cables to do the splitting or some Gibraltars. I think I'll have to modify the Gibraltar Cables if I use them. This should increase the low end and round off the high end, though.

I've just been feeling that the woofer on the bottom isn't putting enough bass out because of interference from the higher frequencies and the higher end is sounding pinched. This way, they'll each go to the right place. No information overload for the respective cone/tweeter.

Just to make sure there's no interference from magnetic fields, I'm putting ERS paper between the wires and speakers.

Anyways, that's my current system.

I’m running dual monitors a Samsung 5687 DLP and a Samsung SyncMaster 912N LCD. This computer is running only Windows XP MCE for now.
I also have an old dual boot XP/Red Hat Linux emachines computer that shares the DLP TV as a monitor through a KVM switch.
Both theses and an Xbox 360 Elite are all networked together using a Linksys router.

Good enough

Nothing fancy anymore. I type with a 15" long mouthstick, and prefer IBM Thinkpads, because of the little pointer gizmo in the keyboard. It was the most top of the line Thinkpad six month's ago, a Z61p wide screen.

The 2nd one really isn't even a gaming pc it's more of a bs around with pc. I wouldn't even try to run a game on it. I would guess it has a 128mb video card I dont even know that. That one I really dont use it for much.

As for your 1st rig nice setup. I just got that 320GB HD they had a sale on those at Best Buy for $95.39 with tax I couldn't pass up a deal that good!!

I use the backup pc to keep my music and pics on incase i need to wipe my main computer or the HDD dies. Also good when one goes down and I need to get online or something. They are networked together and share a Canon printer thats hooked into the backup pc. The little thing on the very left atop my shelves is my headphone amp for use with my grado 125's but I mainly use it as a preamp for listening to music off the PC into my stereo on the other end of the room. which kicks the headphones *** into last century. Im currently just using my computer at work until i get my broadband hooked up at home which should happen next week.

Well since I posted the above i added two more 512mb sticks into my Dell, for a total of 1.5GB of pc3200 400mhz ram. And I am now running the 160gb sata hdd with an 80gb ide slave. Also added a 400gb external HDD via firewire.

And i gave my backup pc to my sister. Dont need it since i have the external hdd and the laptop.

Oh yeah and I got a laptop, Apple Powerbook G4 titanium, 15.2" display, DVI, 667 G4 processor, 1gb of ram, built in airport card. The works
