I am patiently waiting for Vista to roll out in consumer grade PC's to make my next computer purchase for home...just not sure if I'll go with a Vista system or maybe take advantage of an XP system that should go a lot cheaper since Vista will be the "in" thing........but in the meantime I'll probably get the award for the slowest PC:

Celeron 466 mhz(hold onto your hat!)
512 mg RAM
Windows 98(second edition mind you!!)
DVD ROM CD R/W(Plextor)
12 and 120 gb hard drives

about the only thing I've bought in the last few years was a Klipsch Pro-media 2.1 speaker set up and a 17" Samsung LCD. It serves the purpose of emails and surfing the net but I'm looking forward to a more up to date system!

Modstream is in!

I just picked up my OCZ modstream 520 today. Trying to decide if I should install it or not (my current PSU has all the wires intertwined and it's a paint to work with).

Anywho, heres some pictures.

New Case

OK, I just got back from my buddies and the new computer case is up and running. Much larger and heavier then my old case. But most importantly, it's WAY more l33T.

Sorry for the blur, I wanted to get the glow. BTW, with all the fans off, its DEAD silent (and we're talking 5 case fans, CPU, and 120mm PSU fan).

That is a very nice antec man.

I personally am looking to get an htpc case for myself, not a fan of towers really.

I was going to go that route as well, but I don't have a HDTV, and I won't have a HDTV for quite some time.

Plus, this was too good a deal to pass up.

Case

Gateway 835gm with
Intel BTX mobo,
Pentium D 820 (2.8 GHz dual core),
1 Gig RAM,
ATI Radeon x800 XL video card (256 MB - PCI-Express),
On board Intel 7.1 sound card,
Stock DVD dual layer burner and DVD ROM,
Samsung 930B 19" LCD monitor,
Dual boot XP Media Center 2005 / Vista Beta 2 (shortly installing RC2).

Nothing special but it does alright with HF2, FarCry and B&W2.

Off = 3.3V. I leave the CPU fan at the point where it's not quite audible. In the 2 pictures, the first one was the fans set as low as I can get them, second was full tilt. I only turn them down when I'm sleeping (assuming I leave my comp. on, usually turn it off) or when I'm playing a movie from my PC to TV.

Another Mac user...and a couple follow-ups

Looks like I'm the third person to weigh in with a Mac. Mine's a dual-G5 Power Mac, running OS X Tiger. I have an old 17" NEC CRT monitor hooked up to it, and I have a Panasonic PM17 mini-stereo (given to me by my parents) hooked up to play the system sounds, music, and movie soundtracks.

Majorloser...your IIe must ROCK! :D

Zildjian...I learned to use an abacus when I was young. My parents thought it would be good for me. But if you can get onto the net with one, I bow to you! ;)

I don't really have any plans to upgrade anytime soon. Sure World Of Warcraft ran like poo with a 32Mb ATI (Hitching a ride on a bat to the Undercity would make it slow to 1 frame every 5 seconds). But I lost all intrest in WOW and have gone back to having "too much computer", since I really only surf the web, download Chinese leasons, and watch porn with it.
