For a good laugh, Ridikas posted on ADTG's B&W thread that the LSi towers are the holy grail for $3-4K towers.

I'm sure ADTG will approve :D

Fuzz, people like you like to take things out of context. I've never said that ALL garage companies are fraudulent, nor have I said that ALL big corporations are not evil. I no longer wish to have a conversation with you. It bores me. This will be my very last response to you :)

You think the poor ba$tard bought some Polks, and needs our support in the rationalization? ;)

That's quite alright, because if you haven't noticed you've gotten a "last response" from some of the most respected members of this forum. ;)

A nice little excerpt from the Home Theater Mag Review where he mentions how he broke an "audiophile rule" and had to use tone controls on the LSi towers:

Finally, I did something I usually avoid in speaker reviews: I tried a variety of the manual and automated equalization options available on the Integra pre-pro. I settled on the simplest of tweaks: increasing the pre-pro’s treble control to +1 dB. This raised the measured output of the preamp by slightly less than 1 dB above about 6 kilohertz. Whether this will help achieve a desired result will depend on the liveliness of your room. I would normally agree with those who argue against the casual use of tone controls, but also counter that the amount of damping in a room, even from normal furnishings, can easily produce a difference of +/-1 dB—or more—in the treble. My room falls a bit on the dead side of neutral.

So, they needed some tone adjustment to sound their best. By Ridikas's own rules, they can't be the best speakers in the world, as they wouldn't need that, regardless of the room.

That was the reviewer's personal preference, it had nothing to do with performance.

You've got to be kidding me!! The speakers were measure without any EQ. Should this even be up for a debate? Everything else is meaningless. The reviewer said his room sounds dead, blah, blah, blah. Who cares?

That's like 'Speaker Viagra'. They have treble ED!

I wonder where the off axis measurements are of the Polk bookshelves. I know we heard such poor things about the MBOW1 but hey I think they measure pretty well, but what do I know.

Here's another

On axis and 60 deg Off Axis (Roll off >15khz due to mic. Actual tweeter response extends beyond 20khz)

Circular reasoning, from his earlier post.
Loudspeakers have nothing to do with one's room interference

To summarize Troll Ridikas: Onkyo makes the only receivers worth buying, Paradigm and JBL subs suck (only the ID brands are any good), Spend all your money on THX certs and THX cables (even though he doesn't understand the difference b/w THX cert and THX algorithms), Sony is king, garage and DIY speakers suck, the LSi speakers are the be-all end-all even though HTM had to resort to tone controls to make them play nice.

He has yet to list his equipment that he has actually spent $ on.

He is a prime candidate for Phoenix Effect Distortion.

I'm sure I've missed a few......

Oh yeah, officially on my ignore list----WINNING:rolleyes::D:eek:
