President slammed for golfing while South Carolina burning...

Only posted this cause it brought back some bad memories. Hurricane Katrina was probably the worst. Remember reading a book and some leader, maybe from FEMA not sure, sends his assistant to New Orleans to investigate how bad it is. I just remember the part in the book where the assistant left a message or something like While you're having dinner with your wife at a nice 5-star restaurant, my ass is laying on concrete for the night. Lesson I learned is you gotta man the battle stations, or at least not be at an expensive restaurant while people are sleeping on concrete. Cause you get caught and oh boy you look like an idiot! I remember that dumb ass governor or whoever who could have had like 20 or 40 school buses brought in to pick people up. But no. Things finally picked up when that Major from the Army was brought in. Go figure. It's usually the military that gets it done right.

I remember Bush finally coming with boots on the ground. Remember his plane actually flew over once beforehand. I thought WTF! So it was like five days later or something before he arrived. Also remember someone chewing out Condi Rice cause she was playing tennis with Monica Seles and bought shoes at Farragamos. Oopsies. At least she had the decency to acknowledge she was wrong.

Then the recent dipstick who was heading to Africa or something while LA was burning. That's the type of mistake that should get you voted out.

Anyway that's like man the stations and bagged lunch. Get me some deodorant, and a bar of soap. Roll up your sleeves, and if you can't really do that much about the situation at least pretend you care and don't get caught playing golf like the fool above.

One thing to remember, when president is traveling like that, his entourage is huge, gets in the way of everything.
Why would he go, it is not in Florida across from his palace.

Not really a matter of going. Rather what you're doing while the fires are going, or at least while it's news coverage. I remember a Bush supporter saying to me on Katrina: Well what could he do?! I can't tell you what you should be doing in that situation, but I sure as hell can tell you what you shouldn't be doing. I've kind of lived by that ever since.

And parents need to teach their kids what will be needed WRT basic knowledge- if they don't know, they need to discuss it with other parents and the schools. Nobody can read the future, but it seems that a lot of parents don't have a clue or time.

There's a point when parents can no longer help kids with homework- once that happens, better solutions are needed.
