KBJ- I can't support her. Cruz's hearing on her past cases on pedophiles is pretty bad. Amongst several, one she did 28 months on a required 84-92 months. This was pretty clear cut where the pedophile had hundreds or thousands of images of infants and toddlers.

See post #300.
I reviewed post #300 at your request.

My response is NOT directed at you, but here is what I think.

You can’t rub 5 pounds of feces in my face and hand me a tissue to clean it up. The stench endures.

The general populace has an enduring impression that this Woman is an advocate for child pornographers.

The sad part is, the Republicans know better.
But it did not matter, never has never will.

She had to sit there and take this abuse, be painted as a supporter of child pornographers in front of her parents and her child.

She had to sit there and take a lashing from massa, in front of the whole world and hold it together, lest she be portrayed as an emotional woman, or an angry Black woman. They made it clear that she couldn’t even speak unless they allowed it.

Juxtapose this with the Cavanaugh hearing. This man was accused of Rape and Sexual Assualt, yet he entered the proceedings angry, obstinate, defiant, ( in other words he walked in and comported himself as a white man)

What happened to this Woman is far beyond the pale of politics, serves as a warning for people of color, and further erodes my belief in the humanity of white people in general, and America as a whole.

I don't think they were targeting race but to try and give the impression she's weak on crime. Then go on Faux and report their nonsense. It was (R) Ben Sasse who had the decency to let her speak. Now Tucker Carlson, well yeah he'd bring in race. I dunno about that party. It's the party of fear & hate. A lot of it has to do with who is on the tv screen. Not that the Dems are that much better, but the Republicans don't articulate *ideas*. Also nearly all of the conspiracies are coming from the right IMO. It's almost as if it's the only way they feel they can win elections. Rather sad IMO.

In a country of 334 million people, you can't find any white people who are decent human beings? You're not looking hard enough. You're judging all of us by the actions and words of a relatively small number. That number is far too high as it isn't zero, but it's still wrong to do that.

Sadly, Biden made it about race and sex when he announced he was basing his choice on it. Same with his VP choice. If she was his best candidate, he should have just picked her without 'virtue' signaling.

Maybe one of the reasons the country is so divided are things like the below and the way the totally compromised media and the Democratic party handled it? You might have missed this "conspiracy theory" coming true.
Besides the war, this should have been the biggest story of the year. The NY Post broke this in October 2020, before the election and the media buried and called it a Russian Hoax.

The money quote is located in paragraph 23.

People familiar with the investigation said prosecutors had examined emails between Mr. Biden, Mr. Archer and others about Burisma and other foreign business activity. Those emails were obtained by The New York Times from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop. The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.

As I've said before, they tell the truth about each other, not themselves. And had it broke, would the tide have switched enough to vote for Trump? (Not ALL politicians are corrupt, but that's the impression many believe.) I'm not convinced it would've. Because Trump is a once in a lifetime 'character'. No life isn't fair, but then as I've said we were dealing with a polarizing president. He's that way because he blurts out whatever right out in the open, *triggers* a lot with his cadence, and because of that is why he lost the election. I'd recommend coming to terms with that. Who knows. Maybe he can come back and win in 2024.

If that ain’t the pot calling the kettle black! Pun intended.
The use of the phrase, “ in general” is not all inclusive…but you know that….
besides, some of my best friends are white! ;)

The Trump obsession blinds you to what's really happening in the forest. Our current path was well determined before 2016. There is much time and events to pass before 2024. Some will be predicable as we see them happening now, inflation, out of control spending, the exposure of the West's priorities and strategies to be craven and corrupt. The corruption is not an impression, its a cancer. It will thrive because it is not exposed by the Media nor is it properly addressed by our government. The few at the top benefit at the cost to the common people. Corruption is not just "financial", it's the corruption of information, facts, history, media, et al.

Since the end of the Cold War, the West has been living in a bubble protected in a quasi "uni-polar world" where we focused on non existential issues. The sun is setting for that era. "History" is re-emerging from the shadows in a large way as we enter a multi-polar world and the new powers are not republics or democracies. They all have or want nukes and regional power. It will be back to basic national priorities if the "free world" countries are going to be successful. National cohesion, a strong economy, command of resources, strong military, and a properly educated and trained population will determine who prevails.

Is the West ready for that or will we focus on our smart phones and the proper use of pronouns?

"in general" is still painting with a pretty broad brush.

BTW- I have never said, written, posted or thought that all or most of any group are bad. Well, other than career criminals and politicians, but now I'm being repetitious.

Odd how you can say I'm the one who is obsessed by Trump yet you used an example specifically released in October 2020. It's like crying over spilled milk. You've repeated the Hunter Biden laptop theory as to why Trump lost. I've said repeatedly Trump lost, not due to his policy, but by his public behavior ironically.

Our current path was well determined before 2016.

Hunter Biden's laptop had nothing to do with the election- it's about using making contacts in Russia, China and Ukraine that paid him/them for influence. Then, Hunter showed what a fine person he is. You really need to look at the FISA warrants and the DNC for what was done to prevent Trumplestiltskin winning and BTW, how the hell did Biden receive almost 12 million more votes than Obama?

Nukes and 'regional' really don't go together.

I completely agree with the last question and IMO, this is happening because of the way these children were raised.

I'm aware of that, but the memo was released in October 2020 meaning Sith was trying to use the burying of the information as the reason why Trump lost, not Trump himself.

I imagine Biden set a record voter attendance because of Trump. It's kind of like spitting at the camera for four years but not recognizing that played a huge role in losing the election. It's as if you people are refusing to accept that your public conduct in particular plays a role in elections. It isn't as if Trump has the squeaky clean behavior of Romney.

As someone on Quora pointed out.....

If one focuses purely on the policies it is possible to arguably forgive Trump his excesses in language.

However, the presidency is more than just the policies, it is also judgement and effectiveness. And these statements are troubling against the criteria of Trump’s language.

Finally of course, he who succeeds by showmanship of words also will probably fail by showmanship of words unless they are very careful, and as his supporters are sometimes gleeful to point out, Trump is typically not careful.

So it does depend upon your perspective. As Trump makes more and more judgments errors in his statements, typically one would expect the body politic to become increasingly less forgiving. We will see if this holds true this time.

Did you see Biden say that Putin can't stay in power and then, the WH had to walk it back? Not very careful, IMO.

The point about Hunter's Laptop story is not about WHY Trump lost the election. There are many reasons why he lost the election, and I have posted the TIME article before, that to me, seems to reveal more than it intends to capture the reasons.

The Laptop story was released in October of 2020, so that's why the date was mentioned. The point was how what was labeled a "conspiracy theory" is now magically not. It was about how the corrupted media coordinated to bury the story and label it as a Russian Hoax. Hence this leads a further lack of credibility of the media. Someone did a good mashup for Matt Taibbi that speaks wonders for it.

Again you keep pointing to other areas for Trump's loss when the primary was his behavior. It's why Biden set a record for votes. Get out the vote, momentum, the blue wave etc.

For the third time. It was about the media. The point was not about Trump's loss.
Speaking of media coverage. Some points posted by Majid Rafizadeh. It will be interesting to see how the media portrays this deal for the Biden Administration and how Putin benefits from it.

Biden Admin's Nuclear Deal: "This Isn't Obama's Iran Deal. It's Much, Much Worse."
Submitted by Majid Rafizadeh, board member of Harvard International Business Review.
  • "By every indication, the Biden Administration appears to have given away the store... What is more, the deal appears likely to deepen Iran's financial and security relationship with Moscow and Beijing, including through arms sales." — Statement from 49 US Republican Senators, March 14, 2022.
  • With the increased flow of funds to the ruling mullahs, do expect an increase across Iran in human rights violations and domestic crackdowns on those who oppose the regime's policies, as hardliners tend to be the ones gaining more power as a result of any lifting of sanctions. Iran's hardliners already control three branches of the government: the executive, the legislative, and the judiciary.
  • Regionally speaking, a nuclear deal will undoubtedly escalate Iran's interference in the domestic affairs of other countries, despite what the advocates of the nuclear deal argue -- just as when then US President Barack Obama predicted that with a nuclear deal, "attitudes will change." They did. For the worse.
  • Sanctions relief, as a consequence of a nuclear accord, will most likely finance Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Quds Force (the IRGC branch for extraterritorial operations) and buttress Iran's terrorist proxies, including Lebanon's Hezbollah, Yemen's Houthis, Iraq's Shiite militias, and Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
  • The worst parts of the new deal are, of course, that it will enable the Iranian regime, repeatedly listed by the US as a state sponsor of terrorism, to have full nuclear weapons capability, an unlimited number of nuclear warheads, and the intercontinental ballistic missile systems with which to deliver them. In addition, as a separate deal, the US will reportedly release the IRGC from the US List of Foreign Terrorist Organizations, "in return for a public commitment from Iran to de-escalation in the region" and a promise "not to attack Americans."
  • Iran's leaders, for a start, never honored their earlier "commitment," so why would anyone think they would honor this one? In a burst of honesty, though -- and a pretty explicit tip-off -- they stated that they "didn't agree to the U.S. demand and suggested giving the U.S. a private side letter instead."
  • Then there is that revealingly narcissistic condition, "not to attack Americans"? Oh, then attacking Saudis, Emiratis, Israelis, Europeans, South Americans and everyone else is just fine? Thanks, Biden.
  • Worse, the Iranians were complicit with al-Qaeda in attacking the US on 9/11/2001. So we are rewarding them?
  • To top it off, the US State Department just confirmed that Russia and its war-criminal President Vladimir Putin could keep Iran's "excess uranium." (Excess of what?) Seriously? So Putin can use Iran's uranium to threaten bombing his next "Ukraine"?
  • One can only assume that just as the region has become relatively more peaceful and stable, the Biden administration would like to destabilize it. After surrendering to the Taliban in Afghanistan and failing to deter Putin from invading Ukraine, has the Biden administration not created enough destabilization? Why would a US president want a legacy of three major destabilizations unless someone was interested in bringing down the West?
  • The US proposals -- negotiated for the Americans by Russia of all unimpeachable, trustworthy, above-board advocates -- have been described as: "This Isn't Obama's Iran Deal. It's Much, Much Worse." That sounds about right.
The Biden administration continues to disregard major concerns regarding the Iran nuclear deal, and has reportedly "refused to commit to submit a new Iran deal to the Senate for ratification as a treaty, as per its constitutional obligation."
