Seriously, I have no life.
I know different brand dimmers use the "D' style knob.
I'll look some up, and let you know.

There you go. I know those knobs are on all kinds of devices. He would be out much if he has to buy one of those dimmers to replace every broken knob.

I have never found those knobs though as a standalone item.

Well done Rickster.

Darn! I took one of the unis out of the wall and it is a fancy digital unit, so it's proprietary and I cannot replace it with a standard one.

Go ahead and get the knobs Rickster found for you. It took a good electrician to know where to look.

I couldn't find any site that actually showed the shaft style.
It won't matter if the knob does not have a flat for the shaft. If the knob is loose, he can make a shim out of plastic or wood. If the hole is snug, he can carefully drill it out and then make a shim. I would not use an electric drill though, but hand drill. This will not be a problem with the minimum of ingenuity.

I am having EXACTLY the same problem. I went on the internet to try to find these knobs and came across your post. I have contacted my installer and Elan and have gotten no help. Have you had any luck? TCS

Welcome to the forum, TCS!

The OP only stayed around for a day and then left. His last activity was after TLS' post on getting the knobs that Rick suggested (although I can't say if he read that post). So, I don't think the OP is going to come back and let us know what ended up working.

There were a number of good suggestions in this thread, though. Just let us know if you need any more help after reading through it and checking out some of the products that were suggested.
