Alright, thanks for the pics. It looks like you have everything hooked up correctly, save for the surrounds speakers (should be hooked to surround on the receiver, not the surround back).
Depending on what kind of outputs your cable box has will determine how to hook up the system. If it has digital audio outputs (either optical or coaxial), then I would use one of those. That way you only need one cable for the sound.
But before we go further...since you just bought the stuff, is there a chance you could return the Bose system? I would HIGHLY recommend that you do that. If you paid MSRP for it ($700), we can help you put together a system that will kick its butt, and still save you money. Oh, and I'm answering your PMs too...
