I am so frustrated!!!! I have a Yamha htr5860,bose accust6, JVC34", cable box is scientific atlanta. I don't know how to hook them up! I have read and read and tried and tried to hook them up. I have been given advice from the cable guy that my box is not stereo and bb guys say it is. I started with sound from the front 4 and just not the back... Now I have nothing.

Just for reference, you have the Acoustimass 6?

I believe you have to connect the pre-outs from your Yamaha receiver to the matching inputs on the bass module. Bose systems (the cube ones) are usually all powered by the amp in the bass module. Then connect your speakers to the speaker outputs on the bass module.

Did you acquire these speakers recently? If you could take them back to get a full refund, I would do so. For the same price of $700, you can get a 5.1 system that will stomp the Bose system into the ground.

That said, you have a great receiver, so no worries there.

If you have a digital camera, take a picture of the back of the acoustimass module thing. I never use them, so i don't know what the I/O looks like on them. The pic limit on the forums is only 100kbytes, so you'll have to upload the pic to Photobucket or something and post a link.

Alright, thanks for the pics. It looks like you have everything hooked up correctly, save for the surrounds speakers (should be hooked to surround on the receiver, not the surround back).

Depending on what kind of outputs your cable box has will determine how to hook up the system. If it has digital audio outputs (either optical or coaxial), then I would use one of those. That way you only need one cable for the sound.

But before we go further...since you just bought the stuff, is there a chance you could return the Bose system? I would HIGHLY recommend that you do that. If you paid MSRP for it ($700), we can help you put together a system that will kick its butt, and still save you money. Oh, and I'm answering your PMs too...
