Plasma TVs are nice.

Have two plasma tvs doing well, they haven't given me any reason to get what likely would be an OLED yet.
What brand are they and how many years have you had them?

I have a 15 year old 50 inch Panny which still works like a new one, except for a little screen burn-in. I might replace it with an OLED one next year because the newer product draws a lot less current.

Samsungs, a 59" I've had 16 years now I think, was their flagship at the time....haven't looked at hours lately but think last time I checked some while back it was over 20k. Several years ago picked up another 59", used, altho one model down believe it was only the lack of an anti-reflective coating the flagship had. It didn't have very many hours, IIRC something over 7k hours? Maybe I'll take a look at hours again, been using them a lot :)

My 52" Panny is also around 15 years old and still looks great. No issues with burn-in. Power consumption is the only issue, as you mentioned. The screen gives off quite a bit of heat and while that was not an issue in the basement, where it is cool, the extra heat in the living room is not desired.

I still have two Pioneer Kuros and the larger one just keeps chugging along as a primary usage unit in our Missouri house. Have had to recalibrate it once after the initial calibration and don't think I'm missing out too much when compared to the 4k units we have around the houses, mostly Samsung 8 series.

I got a used one for $50 but it broke a year later and wasn’t worth repairing. Not an expensive model.

Funny, how these just keep going and we have all seen new "bigger and better" TVs puke in only a couple of years. I got to the point of telling people "It will work, until it doesn't" when they asked about warranty and longevity. SIB-KISS still matters. I have a 20" Sony TV from before 1997 and it still works. Well, I have to use the composite video input....Or, I could use the S-Video, but I can't think of any reasons why, other than the fact that I still have a couple of those cables.

I dunno how accurate the statement is that TVs puke after a couple of years. This one has partied on since I got it in 2010 and has never lost it.
