I emailed pioneer today, hopefully they get back to me soon, I wanna order something today darnit!!!!!
Good call Buckeyefan, but I do have a couple differences in mind. The only difference between the 9100, 1015 and 52Tx is that the 1015 has 3 component video inputs while the 9100 and 52TX both have 2. Also, only the 52TX and 9100 have the RS-232C(serial) connector for outputting the MCACC results to a PC. Now someone earlier said that Pioneer quoted the 9100's weight as 34lbs. The 1015 weighs 34lbs and 14 oz and the 52TX weighs 34.2lbs per Pioneer's website. All three have the same LCD learning remote, as well as the same button configuration on the front of the receivers themselves.Buckeyefan 1 said:Spiffy,
I'm 95% sure the 9100 is the 54TX, and the 9300 is the 56TX. If you can swing it, try for the 9300 (56TX). Seems like the best bet for the money. 44.8 lbs! We know for a fact the 1015 is basically the 52TX. I always say but a little more than you can afford, because in 6 months, you are going to wish you did.
Thanks for the info, but beware, they are not listed on Pioneers list of authorized vendors and Pioneer could refuse warranty service if they wanted to.macuserforlife said:This place claims that they are new and the USA warranty is included.
I have no cash but maybe someone else might want to chesk them out. I don't think I've seen the 9100 that cheap anywhere.

I ended up buying a Pioneer 9100 over a 1015 because I wanted the better claimed fidelity from higher quality parts and "advanced MCACC". However, ALL the sites listing details for the 9100 are incorrect from Best Buy to Vanns to sellers on eBay. The 9100 is more of a 52tx(1014 internals/DSPs) with dual room capability, newer 1 line LCD remote and nice black/gold visuals. It is NOT a dumbed down 54tx with either 40 pound weight (actual weight just over 33 pounds) or advanced MCACC.
I don't need the dual room feature and would have preferred THX Select 2 and three component inputs on a 1015 for slightly less $$ - looks like it will go up for sale sooner than I thought even though I got a very low $429 shipped price
Hope this helps anyone else who can't seem to get straight details on the 9100
Man, you sure did your homework on Pioneer. A+. I did a google search on your 9900TX and even checked Best Buy's website. Nothing. Are you kidding or does it really exist? Does BB have a different site for their new high end section?I bet Pioneer's marketing department is laughing at us right now, watching us trying to decipher what they're doing! To them, all I can say is how about a VSX-9900TX
i think he meant they should put one out, a rebadged 59txi, and call it the 9900tx to sell it at bestbuyBuckeyefan 1 said:Man, you sure did your homework on Pioneer. A+. I just purchased from these guys - price is $299 and they are not an authorized dealer but the unit is brand new and I received it next day on UPS ground. It is up to Pioneer as to whether they woud honor the 2 year warranty so we will see - I bought a Mack warranty just to cover my bases. Great deal bottom line.macuserforlife said:This place claims that they are new and the USA warranty is included.

I am not sure on the lip sync delay - the system has THX Surround EX which I think incorporates this but I am no expert - I can say that I LOVE this unit though and it came highly recommended by several on this site.jcPanny said:Bman3,
Can you or other owners of the 9100 or 1015 report on the lip sync delay feature. I must have this feature on my next receiver because it will be used with a front projection system.
The 1014/1015/9100 does not have lip sync delay.jcPanny said:Bman3,
