Any1 looked at them seriously (heard them or saw any graphs)? The floor standers might be a little too big for my apartment with 15x16x8 living room. So I thought why not use Philis monitors as mains, or even better front 3, or all 5.
I know that Phil1 monitors are around $800/pair, I guess it would make Phil2 monitor $1200/pair. And then maybe throw a woofer upgrade into Phil2?? (should be like $200 extra).. call it Phil2.5

... that would make an HT1's equivalent in ugly box. Might be a way to go for us apartment dwellers.
But will they sound anything like HT1? (i mean drives are the same, crossover too, cabinet different). Will Phil2 monitor need anything extra?
On the side note would a granit stand be good for a monitor? I have a good friend who can make those for me cheap, just not sure if it's a good material.
And as totally crazy idea what if use subwoofers as stands for monitors?
2x rythmiks + 2x phil monitors should make a hell of the front towers, for $1800 - ???? it would make a dual sub system.. or am I missing something here? The only problem I can think of is that the sub placement is different from speaker placement. Could use that black hole stuffing as decoupler and to get the right heights for tweeters.
Just my thoughts on how to make a good system for the least space and $$$...
any input is welcome
