I also love coffee. Batdorf & Bronson has the best coffee I have ever had. Their original store is in Olympia and that's where I get it. I hadn't even realized that they are available nationally.
I prefer a dry looking bean, not oily. Just beginning buying whole bean coffee. I know I prefer a rich coffee, but not an oily bean. I do not like Starbucks. Krispy Kreme "Rich" is a good cup to me. Could you recommend a good bean to order from Batdorf & Bronson?:)

Nothing fancy like hazlenut or french vanilla. I like coffee to taste like coffee.

Zumbo,

Give the Sisters Coffee Company website a look...I highly recommend the Black Butte Gold Blend for your tastes. It's not acidic at all and will give you a premium 'rich' flavor. Mmmmm.

If you coffee fans out there don't have a coffee mill, I highly recommend that you get one. It truly maximizes the flavor of your coffees. You should always buy beans....not ground coffee...and mill your own (not grind your own). A blender-style grinder destroys beans. A mill will provide consistent sized, uncrushed particles for improved coffee. This is the one we have, and love it. (Zumbo...we have the stainless Cuisinart that doesn't have the built-in grinder.)

I'm gettin' thirsty. :)

I prefer Coke over Pepsi by far. Pepsi is too sweet for me.

I don't like the diet stuff. Recently tried a Diet Coke sweetened with Splenda. Yuck. Bought 2 bottles, actually threw away the second bottle.

Pepsi + Coke = POKE! :D (stolen from another poll like this)

Pepsi and Coke aren't going to get together and make you a can of Poke..."
I LMFAO at that one!!

Someone brought home a pack of Pepsi today and put it in the fridge. I hadn't tried Pepsi in a long time. Now I know why. Yuck! I'm anything but a picky eater but Pepsi tastes terrible! Coca Cola is much better.

Of course, this is my opinion and I am not stating this as fact. What do you like better? Pepsi or Coke?

I had one of those blind comparisons at some fair. Tasted the same to me.

That's strange. I just conducted my own blind test with my dad. I bought some Coke and had him give me a cup each of Pepsi and Coke. I spotted the Coke with 100% accuracy. Pepsi just tastes bad. I don't see how anyone can taste no difference.

I prefer Pepsi to coke though I do not drink either of them anymore. I can definitely tell the difference in a blind test, I have done it.

That coffee milling machine looks interesting. I may have to give it a whirl.

Give it a whirl, eh? You have your humor shoes on early this morning! :D

But yes, you will notice a significant difference in the coffee taste (and aroma for some reason).

For years I ground my own, going as far as having my dad ship me beans from a local guy in Warren ohio that roasted his own beans ( he shipped them to me when I lived in Spain, Wyoming, and Albuquerque). But my inlaws bough a Senseo machine, it is wonderful (I ended up buying 2 for home and one for my office, the wife likes the flavored coffees and I dont want the contamination in mine). I love it because it is super fresh, and the coffee, although pre-ground, tastes like I just ground it. Plus I don't waste any, since it is 1 cup at a time, so it actually turns out to be cheaper in most cases too.

I can tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi 100% of the time too. I only drink Coke if that is my only option. People who have become acustomed to one, usually don't like the other. Coke has a funny after taste to me, sort of like Skoal....or in the words of Ren Hoek "boiled football leather".

Fresh ground was the only way for me for coffee, but I gave that up a long time ago. I even kicked POP (it's soda here man...) for a while, but it's a bad habit that's back.

I don't drink regular, I drink diet, and diet Pepsi, is far better than diet Coke, this seems to be true to the people in my office and most of the ones at the labs that I see. Just an observation, I'm not saying the national labs prefer pepsi.

Same for me. I can't stand diet drinks and if it kills lab rats.....

I drink maybe two sodas a week and maybe one cup of coffee a day. I just started drinking coffee four years ago when my kids were born. Nothing like a non-fat mocha to start your day. :D But ice cold water is my drink of choice.

For what it's worth...no proof here, and this is just an anecdotal report...

I drank one to two liters of Diet Pepsi a day for ~5 years and ended up with Stage IV Head & Neck squamous cell cancer. I had no other risk factors that I am aware of.

Sorry to hear that and I hope you have fully recovered. I'll take my chances of my teeth rotting over the possible other risks. :)

I avoid diet pop like the plague. FYI, aspartame (the artificial sweetener in diet stuff) was originally developed as a chemical weapon. Mmm...tasty.

On a side note, the University of Michigan recently banned Coca-Cola from campus (meaning that any U owned store/dining hall cannot purchase it) because a bunch of uppity students think Coke is evil. Here's the site:

http://killercoke.org/

Like Coke is the only company to pull that kind of stuff. What about all the other products we buy that are made in other countries that treat their workers like dirt, work them to death, and probably murder people to get them out of the way? No, we have to attack a popular beverage. I personally like Coke classic. Yes, I know it makes an excellent battery corrosion remover, but it's still damn tasty (especially when it's partially frozen).

Drinking habits...

Make mine a Jack & Coke please!

If I ask for a Jack & Pepsi I have to wait another syllable longer!!!:D

Birch beer not root beer. (I'm Pennsylvania Dutch):)

I don't like the smell of coffee. I have a hard time going down that isle at the supermarket.

Water at work, soda or iced tea at meals and beer/jack/vodka at play.

It's a good idea to stick with the natural stuff, me thinks. If I had to do it again, I'd not worry about the teeth and added calories.

I am cancer free two years out from treatment, Duffinator. :D :D Thanks for your wishes. Three more years and they'll call me good! :D :D :D

(HI KIDS!! :) Here's a yellow one from me. )
