Here awhile back, I ordered another Fountek NeoCD 1.0 ribbon tweeter because the faceplates on the ones in my Speedsters were slightly different and it bugged me. What had not occurred to me was how it would bother me having just one driver with nowhere to go, other than part of my everything audio parts hoard. I keep coming across this lone tweeter, every time I go digging through the boxes of audio 'allness.' I couldn't stand it anymore, so I went looking on PE and Madisound etc, and all were out of stock. What if they stop making it, I thought. I'm going to be stuck with this bastard tweeter just hanging around, haunting me from here on out.

Anyway, I found one NIB on Ebay and now have a pair. This little Speedster design is just a wonderful little speaker.

I don't need another pair of Speedsters, but I have lots of veneer left over and at least these don't take up a lot of room. I have to admit that as much as I love to hate small woofers, the Tang Band W4-1720 4" has won me over in the immediate near field, and the underhung motor on the thing looks ridiculous. Of course I could buy 4 of the W4-1720s and built the 2.5, TMM tower version of the speaker, but I definitely don't need that, either.

The original Speedster might be a good candidate for an active design, though, which is a water I haven't dipped my toe into yet.

That motor structure on the Tang Band is really cool, beffy AF!
