PART 2: Just got back with my JBL S312 II's now with pictures

I got everything hooked up and calibrated this morning. I am now running a all JBL sound stage plus my SVS Ultra.

Fronts- My new S312 II's pictured with my Pinnacles that have been moved aside. The 312's are 41 inches tall @ 77 pounds.

Center- S Center II

My new S36 II's now my new side surrounds sit atop my old Mitsubishi's

Back surrounds- My Old L-88's I purchased used in '76, still going strong

My first impressions, swweeeeeeet Only had a chance to run a few samples, a couple CD tracks, and a few demo scenes. One I like to run is on a DTS demo disc that has a Jurassic Park 2 trailer on it. Very good use of all the surrounds with stomping and jungle noise going through the sound field and of course the T-REX!
Not sure what to do with the Pinnacles now, I'll trade for another pair of 312's if anyone has some layin' around. More later.

Well I finally had a few hours to play with the new set up with some Cd's. And I am totally pleased and satisfied with the 7 JBL's and the SVS Ultra combo. Very impressive in my opinion, and thats what counts right. Still have to watch some movies now, but have sampled a few scenes from some. Only thing left is a receiver at some point, probably Yamaha, but no hurry on that one. Besides I think I better lay low for awhile on the electronics for a few months. Probably a question for another thread but, how big a difference is the change going to HD sound, is it less dramatic, then say, the quality going from SD video to Bluray? Not that I'm looking or anything!
