Paradigm Titan problem

Hello, I've searched far and wide on Google for any information related to the problem I'm having with one of my Paradigm Titan speakers. I noticed yesterday that the output from my left speaker was extremely low and laden with static. At first I checked the amp to see if that was the problem, but after I plugged the input stereo wires from the right speaker into the left one, the same sound emerged. I looked inside the speaker but couldn't find any loose connections or other obvious problems. I've only owned the things for about two years now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can almost guarantee you have a blown driver. Unfortunately the grilles are not removable, so it kind of makes pushing the cone of the midrange in to see if you can hear a scratchy sound difficult. It sounds like the "static" is coming from the midrange or the tweeter? This situation 9 times out of 10 results from driving the speaker too hard with insufficient power. I've owned 4 pairs of Titans - v1, v2 and v3.

That's probably what happened. I had some old Pioneer amp that I picked up at a pawn shop and just recently my father gave me his old Kenwood KR-V9020. The new receiver is infinitely better than the old hunk of junk, but the damage has already been done. Is there any way to replace the driver?

That is a good question and I can't answer it, because I never had one have an issue. I'd contact the dealer and ask them what to do, as they may have to do it for you or send it for repair and/or hopefully work something out for you. My guess is the grille only comes off from the inside if it does at all.
