But GlocksRock is right. My next upgrade will be the Display system.

I'm thinking about the new Epson Home 1080UB Projector - the one that boasts the 50,000:1 Contrast and the 120" Carada Criterion 16:9 screen.

I personaly love the sound of Def techs. Digms and def techs were my two top choices in my price range and it was a tuff choice. But for some reason I just fell in love with the sound of my Paradigms .

Even the best speakers in the world will sound differently in different rooms and with different preamps/amps/sources.

So a speaker may not sound the best in one showroom, but it may sound the best in another room w/ another preamp/amp.

I guess everyone also has different tastes.

I agree with you on all counts, but I A/B the DT with Energy C9 side by side in the same room. I didn't ask them to switch the positions of the two but again they were side by side. The C-9s were crystal clear compared to the DT towers, no contest. Yes I did read reviews on the DT and I know they are highly rated so may be the pair I listened to was detective. I am going to have to give the DT any try but I can tell you the B&W diamond series do sound very much like live concert, very neutral mids and highs.

Of all the speakers mentioned in this thread, subjectivism aside, the Bower & Wilkin's 802D are the most accurate and the most acoustically inert. They are about $16,000 new, but if you want the perfect mono-polar speaker, they are pretty much it.

Wow for that much of a price difference it better be a night and day difference. But then again if you can afford 16000 dollars speakers money is no object and I to probably would step up Until then i'll have to make do with my champain taste and beer breath

For classical music listening, I think you are right. I brought my own CD last time I listened to them. My conclusion was, it is better than live concert because you don't hear those coughs and sneezes. I still think I will end up owning a pair eventually.

For H.T. jazz, rocks etc., I would not pay that kind of money. I am probably stating the obvious though.

They are 29Hz to 18kHz ±0.5dB; 26Hz to 20kHz ±1.0dB; -3dB at 23Hz, -6dB at 20Hz and -10dB at 17Hz.

Even the flagship $23K/pr B&W 800D is NOT that good: 32Hz - 28kHz ±3dB on reference axis; -6dB at 25Hz and 33kHz.

Might want to get some listening time in on the new Monitor Audio Platinum PL300's, I came away from them with a really good feeling.... they really did everything very well....

Good lower end, very lush midrange, and the ribbon tweeter was crystal clear and very pleasant... Can't say they did anything wrong on my hour to hour and 1/2 audition... and they are very pretty... Extremely well constructed..

It's 60K per pair of the tube thing, still the price of a small BMW! The Salon2 definitely looks much better on paper than the 802D, for only a few thousand dollars more.

Yeah, the flagship tube-Nautilus is 25 Hz - 20 kHz ±0.5dB and the Salon2 is 29 Hz - 18 kHz ±0.5dB, which is close for a fraction of the price.

So the "tube thing" is $60K/pr, but what's that MSRP price listed on that website that says "$120K"?
