PAL DVDs

I just purchased the new Space:1999 Season 1 DVDs from Amazon UK. They are not available here in North America and are newly remastered. Anyway, the discs are Region 2 and PAL. I have 2 cheapo Chinese-made DVD players (Magnasonic DVD816, and Diamond Vision DVDV805-04) that are both region-free and support PAL discs. I have not yet received my dvds from Amazon.

Will I be able to play and watch my PAL discs in these players?

If a player states that it can play PAL discs, does this automatically mean that it will do PAL to NTSC conversion?

I believe your Chinese all region players will convert the PAL video to NTSC. I am a big fan of British mysteries which I can buy from Amazon.uk. I had a cheap Cyberhome dvd player which played PAL dvds just fine even though this conversion capability wasn't advertised.

What is a good Region free DVD player? I am looking at buying some Hong Kong DVDs and want a good, decently priced region free DVD player that will give me little problems.
