Then either the large Polk RTi10 or the VR3 should do the job for the front mains.

These two choices should give you sufficient bass for most materials. Later on when you feel you need more bass, you can always opt to purchase a sub. A HSU VTF-3 is a good choice. Or if you can, a Velodyne SPL 12 is also a good choice.

Anyways, go listen to those speakers yourself. Only you can judge what's right for your ears.
I have a Cerwin vega Lw 10 sub. Honestly, sounds very good. I find myself having to turn it down.

The PSB T45's and 55's mentioned in a previous post are also very highly regarded. PSB is a Canadian brand. A while ago the Canadian government used federal money to set up a national research laboratory to benefit Canadian companies. As a result, Canadian audio companies have access to top level government sponsored research on acoustics, audio electronics. Therefore, Canadian companies usually make very good speakers and amps at affordable prices.

PSB is one of them. So is Paradigm, Energy, etc.

Again, you have to audition them physically before you can decide what's right for you. If you want to consider the PSB's Image series, I would also take a look at the T65, the largest floorstander in the PSB Image series. Many people have given this floorstander very favorable reviews. And like I said previously, I am advocate for getting the largest floorstander you can get.

As to the sub, I haven't heard of the particular BIC sub you have. But BIC is not exactly an audiophile brand. You have to hear a real audiophile grade subwoofer to believe what a sub is really capable of.

I once heard a Velodyne DD series subwoofer, and boy, did my jaws drop. Previous to that, I had only owned an entry level Yamaha sub. That Velodyne DD series sub had such fast transient response, it just kept the bass pumping right along with the mains without ever skipping a beat. Once you hear it, you will never want to go back to a lesser sub. But it's an expensive investment. I wish I had the kind of disposable income to buy one.

Did I say that? LOL  :D
I am always ready for an upgrade. what sub would you suggest? For now I am ready for some fronts with some good sound and use what I have. This will be a progressive upgrade. Advice is welcome.

So wait until then before you concentrate on a subwoofer. Put your efforts into your mains for now.

Are you kidding me? Have you seen those 100+ page Onix Rocket threads on the AVSforum from ~2003? In those threads, a few sane people who questioned the audio quality of those Onix Rockets were literally crucified by hordes of Onix Rockets die hards for questioning the supposed superiority of Onix Rockets.

To those "die hards," Onix Rockets were literally the best speakers to EVER have graced the face of this planet. I mean, give me a break!

And I don't even want to go into those later threads where it was eventually revealed that all those endless user accounts that endlessly praised Onix Rockets were all coming from the same common IP addresses.

Speaking of those Swans Divas. They came before the Onix Rockets. They were praised to be the best speakers EVER, until av123 decided to sell Onix Rockets instead. Then it was just like those Swans Divas fell off the face of the earth, no one ever bothered with them again.

I am highly critical of the ethics of companies who engage in these types of advertising practices.

In this respect, other internet direct companies such as Hsu, Ascend Acoustics, etc., have adopted a far more honest, open advertising strategy, as opposed to av123's highly inflated, questionable tactics.

As to SVS, go dig up those 100+ page threads, read them, and make your own judgement.
Times are hard and I think a lot of companies will try even harder to sell their products.

SVS may or may not be guilty of these advertisement strategies, but I don't think there is any doubt that the SVS subwoofers are outstanding products. Don't you think?

Just out of curiosity, what do you think of Def Tech?:D

.

If the OP is considering getting a sub, he could save himself some coin and go with the Image T45s which I can personally attest ad to having more than enough bass for most music. The money saved by going with the T45s can be put towards the upgrade of a sub.

The term audiophile is a loose canon and in a lot of cases refers to over priced snob appeal items marketed to those with huge piles of disposbale income. They buy for the brand name without even considering how it sounds.

My vote goes to the T45, plus sub, and you will get excellent mids and highs in the same class as the T65. What can I say, I just love the way my T45's sound.
