Greetings to all!
I have a Samsung HT-F4500 3D Blu-ray receiver. I have a PlayStation 4 connected to it via optical audio cable. I connected my PC to the receiver through a Y adapter (3.5mm in PC, red and white audio in receiver).
Since I've connected the PC to the receiver, I've lost 5.1 sound on the PlayStation. I've disconnected the PC from the receiver, but the 5.1 still doesn't work. It works fine on the Blu-ray player of the receiver, which is connected to the TV through HDMI. Unfortunately, the receiver does not have an HDMI input, otherwise I would use that to connect the PlayStation for surround sound.
The PlayStation has a few options regarding audio selection, and I've tried all of them. I know I must select bitstream as the processing choice, and either Dolby 5.1 or DTS as the mixing mode. Previously, I used DTS as it sounded slightly better.
I should mention that before the 5.1 stopped working, it would work only if I turned the receiver on prior to turning the PlayStation on.
Is there anyway I could get the 5.1 sound working again from the PlayStation to the receiver, with optical audio? Would it be possible to leave the PC connected with the Y adapter to the receiver?
Any guidance is appreciated, thank you!
