Might work for bad solders in the short term in any case....or those brutal weather changes up there in Minnesota

I’ve communicated many times with the SU director of sales. I just reached out to him to get his opinion.

He said Masimo is selling SU, and that SU is full 100% business as usual in terms of production, sales, services, etc. The Denon and Marantz AVR and AVP demands have been as high as ever, so that’s why many of the models are out of stock, but the inventory will be replenished as usual. For example, the AVR-1A, AVR-10A, and Cinema 50 were out of stock a few days ago, but are back in stock.

What financial world do you live in where you just shut down a billion dollar investment?
Sounds like there is a chance that Denon may survive on its own as Marantz might have priced themselves out of business lol... As I kept reminding their die hard believers of the/their chased after myth Marantz sound (I know you did not fall for that, you just want for M because D does not make an AVP anymore, in Europe and Asia, the M and D price differential is from 0 to 1/3 that of the America's. If @M Code still has his insider info, I bet he would confirm that M has not been selling well, relative to the D brand in NA, that would explain the "no stock" situation your dealer cited, manufacturers don't want to keep too much stock if the product is not selling well enough.

Hopefully in the event their M brand don't survive (I hope they do survive), the D brand may pick up the AVP line, perhaps cheapen the build quality somewhat and get rid of the HDAM modules so as to reduce the cost further to beat up on the likes of Anthem, NAD, etc., though.

Again, I do recommend Anthem, but would avoid the AVM90 unless you really need 4 sub outs vs 2, and wait for their regular sales (approx 15% iirc in previous sale events). The AVM90 is great but at the same price as the AV10, may as well go for the AV10, or the AV20 for the anticipated substantial savings.

Seriously, I have no life.
Thanks for that opinion. I had a nice extended conversation with my dealer Scott.

First, the 7706 has been working fine, since that substantial thump I gave it last night.

So in the meantime, I hope I don't break a fifth metacarpal thumping the 7706. So far I have only had to do it once.
I give equipment a good thump on occasion, too (it's what I refer to as 'percussive diagnostics')- it works fairly often.

Just for reference the Marantz products do have rack mount kits available and even the ones that don't, using a rack shelve shouldn't be bad I presume.

I'd also look at Lyngdorf as discounts should be upcoming, they provide the type of tweaking that you prefer. I know you're not a fan of room correction but they offer one of the best outside Trinnov. As for pricing I think @PENG has hit the nail on the head with the Marantz units, they offer a very good value for their specifications.

Question, are your surrounds setup like your mains where you would need additional subwoofer outputs?

No, only the front right and left speakers need a subwoofer output.

The biggest issue is that their top unit does not have enough HDMI inputs.

This whole issue is a real nuisance. The buzz came back late yesterday afternoon and was present the rest of the day.

This afternoon I switched on and its perfect. Background is silent. You can hear nothing at the MLP.

I have checked all grounding from top to bottom multiple times. All connections are solid and tight.

Intermittent faults are the most irritating of all. You can be certain if you sent it for service it would work perfectly, for the fault to resurface on its return.

This is so irritating as this system is really, really quiet when performing as it should and designed. I was so obsessional with all the ground planes. Everything "belt and suspenders"!

We will see what happens now. I am listening to an organ recital from Norwich Cathedral and my chair is shaking on the deep pedal notes. These lines have incredibly deep natural bass, that is also tight and really natural and never ever booms. I have never heard subs that could come close to competing with these TLs. They do it all with the amps hardly breaking a sweat.

More and more of these fine Willis Organs in UK cathedrals are giving regular recitals.

Nothing has a bass like a Willis organ. The fact he did this so long ago, absolutely astounds me.

If Henry Willis were alive today, he would make the most potent subs of all time, I am certain of that.

Intermittent like that smells like a failing solder or other loose connection. Unfortunate, most certainly.

Intermittent malfunction can also be caused by a leaking capacitor. Of course, that is the hardest problem to solve. I have a Revox B77 tape deck on which the right reel turntable motor circuit is intermittent. I had it verified by two technicians who didn't find the cause and I'm looking for a good Revox repairman. @TLS Guy knows damn well that technicians for that brand are rather hard to find nowadays.
