Only Satellite speakers for Sub-Woofer?

Ok, Please hang on with me as I give you my sad little story....

I bought a new computer and a Creative SBS 2.1 370 along with it...Now, yesterday, a thief stole the satellite speakers...Yes, its true, he cut the wires and stole the satellite ones through the window!!!!! Lucky for me, or is it lucky that my sub-woofer survived?

Now, I tried buying a SBS 245 speakers that had a single input jack with an amp (the woofer already has one) and used a converter to split left and right input and plugged it into the woofer...

Now, the woofer seems to be having a problem with the bass timing (or it is entirely psychological...I'm unable to decide which one!)...Now the question is:

1) Am I imagining things and such cheap speakers don't have much differences or is it really true that the lack of satellite speakers is having problems canceling the bass?

2) I don't mind paying money and buying the entire woofer system again (as I'm not able to get satellite speakers easily); but then again even if I do that, i'll have a sub-woofer extra lying around....(Unless off course I leave it outside for the thief to take it home and use it...:p)

Thanks in advance!

speakers that were attached to your subwoofer got their amplification from the sub's built-in amp. Your satellite speakers do not need any form of additional amplification. Just splice some additional speaker wire onto the cut ends of your remaining speaker wires (coming from the subwoofer) and add two inexpensive normal satellite speakers. Something like this...

I don't know how your system is wired, but maybe you could buy another set of speakers and hook it up with two subwoofers? Two subwoofer setups are quite common and I think most agree that you can't have too much subwoofer(you can always turn them down).

the speakers mentioned by "Rickster71" are nice speakers, only they do no sit the way they are shown in the ad. These are omni directional speakers using the Mirage "omni" pattern sound diffusion cone above the speaker. So, when actually set with the speaker cone facing "up" they work very well. I have a pair also and bought them specifically for the Mirage patent speaker system.
