Just got the Onkyo TX-SR702. This thing has PLENTY of features to keep you happy. The auto calibration w/ mic is an awesome timesaver and is surprisingly acurate. Now onto my question.
I wish to use the pre-outs to attach a seperate amplifier, or for simplistic sake... say a powered-subwoofer.
The pre-outs volume level is variable with the master volume on the receiver. But the pre-outs have a MUCH lower volume output... meaning... I have to crank the amp volume on the sub to FULL before I'll hear anything.
My Kenwood VR-7080 pre-outs do not have this problem, their volume level is just fine. I don't have to crank up the external amp to hear content. But this Onkyo receiver uses a much lower signal.... any suggestions on how to change this? There are no options in the receiver that increases the decibles to the pre-outs. Is there a type of RCA-style signal amp I can use? Why would they make the volume level from the pre-outs so low that you can hardly use them?
BTW... I'm brand new here... this is my first post.
