I think there is nothing that cannot be adjusted and worse, nothing that does not need to be adjusted. Never the less, initial thoughts are very positive, it works well, can be personalized beyond anything I could have imagined. I am upgrading from a Denon and can honestly say the Onkyo sounds a bit better overall with some additional punch and a bit of a better surround involvement. Not sure why, but with the Onkyo I find myself getting into the action on screen a bit more. This may take some investigation. So far, so good. But I will say it is large, quite large but fits in a normal slot for AV furniture. So far, highly recommended.

The interface is nice and the network functions have a good looking GUI and the Android app works nice. If I wanted I could stream music from my phone to the receiver over wifi and or control it from my phone. The 09s also have a built in cooling fan to help keep them cool. I'm using my 809 as a pre/pro for a pair of Emotiva amps driving my mains, my center, and my side surrounds and using the 809's internal amps to power my rears. I cant test the tuner section because where I live I'd need a 20' antenna. So far only the disappointments are that Onkyo stopped including a switched outlet and their 12v trigger is zone 2 only.

I can get it for $200 (and of course I can sell my 635 after that). I was hoping for the auto EQ feature and to offload the TrueHD and DTS-HD from my HTPC to the receiver instead. I do have 3 subwoofers so maybe I should save more for a newer receiver with newer Audessey and the SubEQ but what do you think?
