Hi Audioholics,
I have visited this site many times to view and read on many topics but i have an issue i which is out of my area of expertise. Mind you this issue has been like this for years but i thought it was to do with overheating which still could be the answer.
When i have my ONKYO TX DS656 running Dolby Digital 3/2 channel through my samsung DVD using bitstream my sound cuts out totally about 10 minutes into the movie. If i turn the remote off then on the the sound comes back on for a short period then drops out again. If i select another channel like stereo the same thing happens, it cuts out after a short period of time. If i have the DVD source as PCM i have no issues at all with the sound not dropping out.
Does it sound like i have a faulty chip/part or something when using Dolby Digital. Would a factory reset work ? thought i would ask before loosing all my settings. The fan doesnt seem to come on but i thought that was normal if the system was not getting pushed. I am using the digital intput if that helps.
Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.
