Hi,

I just purchased the Onkyo s5300. I am very exited to try it out, but i'm having problems.

What I currently have:
- Plasma TV with HDMI Inputs
- PS3 with HDMI Connection
- Desktop with HDMI Video output
- Regular Basic Cable for Basic Channels

I installed all the speakers and connected to the reciever as indicated in the quick setup guide. To start, I just wanted to test the PS3, as it seems the simplest. I connected the PS3 to the Game Input on the Onkyo reciever via HDMI cable. Then I used another HDMI cable to connect the HDMI Output on the reciever to HDMI input on my TV. I put the video (HDMI 2) on my TV, and Game Input on the Onkyo reciever, but I'm not getting any video or sound when I turn on my PS3. Am I doing something wrong?

The PS3 was working on HDMI before directly to the TV. So the settings should be ok.

Another question is, how would I connect the Basic Cable so that I can use the Onkyo as well?

- you can click the rear view to see the connections.

Thanks in advance!

On most receivers you have the ability to 'assign' HDMI inputs to any input selector although they have default assignments. Your game input may not be assigned by default to the HDMI input you plugged into and you'll have to visit the menus to make the correct assignment.
