i've had a Samsung PN-58C550 plasma and Samsung BDC5500XAA BD player with current firmware running for over a month. Running directly from the BD player to the screen everything has been working fine at 1080p.
This past weekend I installed a HT-7300. i'm using a 3' HDMI cable to go from the BD to the HT-7300, and a 6' HDMI cable from the HT-7300 to the screen. FWIW i'm also running a 3' HDMI cable from a cable STB to another HDMI input of the HT-7300.
Using the HT-7300, television at 1080i continues to work flawlessly. However, i'm getting a screen full of 'green pixel' artifacts when pushing 1080p from the BD through the HT-7300. I switched to high-end cables, changed the BD settings from auto to manual 1080p; set the receiver from auto to manual 1080p with no change.
Setting the BD manually down to 1080i resolves the 'green pixel' issue. However, I'd like to have 1080p resolved.
The HT-7300 receiver is in a closed cabinet, but has ~4" of clearance above the unit. And, I've left the doors open to allow ventilation to troubleshoot this issue. I haven't measured, but I'd guess no hotter than 90°F above the unit.
Any suggestions welcome.
thanks.
