Hello all,
I was running a system with these components. JVC RX-8000V receiver. The CD player is an Onkyo DX-C390 and the DVD player is a Pioneer DV-320. I also have an all region Pioneer DVD player. Speakers (a set) are Klipsche Reference Premiere RP-280FA. It just seemed like the speakers were not being pushed by the JVC.
My ears are terrible after so many concerts. I like it loud. So now, instead of the JVC, I was going to sub in this Onkyo set up that I got years ago. Barely used. Onkyo EQ-140 equalizer. Onkyo -301 preamp. Onkyo M-5000 amp. I was going to use these together, and I was wondering if these would drive the speakers well. Loud, in other words.
It almost seems like this was a bundle (circa mid-90s) that were sold together. True, not high end, but I gather that they do have decent power and are decent for what they are. I guess the question I would have, Do any of the experts think this will be an upgrade from the JVC? I don't think the connections to the components will be hard, but I wonder how these Onkyo pieces connect to each other.
I guess I would not mind someone giving me some insight here. Hookup? Opinion on sound? Great appreciate any help, and thanks in advance.
Gregg
