Please do. You could even post them here so everyone can make their own decision about them.

I'm very confused as to how Bascon King measuring amps applies to what Stereophile measured in a speaker.
BHK is without a doubt the best at meaasuring things I've ever seen... He has over 40 years experience doing this Tex... Might make him a bit of an expert...

In any event... you evaded the point... but I'm not the least bit surprised by that...

Still wishing you all the very best...

Nice but these drivers aren't from the highly respected Peerless in Denmark. http://www.tymphany.com/

There are from Peerless India. http://www.peerlessaudio.com/
Sure enough... very well respected indeed... and their production lines in China (for these well respected products) are simply very very fine...

Friendly with these folks... we buy loads of tweeters from them...

These speakers look to be an incredible value and I love the look of the cabinet .

This is exactly what I need .............. A nicely built great sounding budget speaker .

One question though (I hope I'm not repeating it ) Is there plans for a matching center ?
Yes indeed there is...

Many thanks...

Hello Mr MLS -

I suppose I could call you guys up but you're pretty active here. I'm toying with the idea of putting up shelves to put your fine speakers on for my HT and am wondering...

A) With a sub handling all the 80 hz and below material how far from the wall should these be minimum?

B) Same question for your matching ceneter channel thats coming out soon.

Thanks

[EDIT] - I just found all the answers to my questions in your on line owners manual. The center channel being sealed is a big deal to me. These are looking good...

[EDIT 2] - I just read where you say the center is not going to be sealed - http://www.av123forum.com/showthread.php?threadid=12452
So - is it sealed or no?

Is the upcoming center channel going to be sealed or not sealed? Manual says yes - you say no in another thread. (Link above)

Thanks

I never said they were the Peerless of Denmark. I'd take the drivers from Peerless of India over them any day. QC is very high in India. The Peerless of Denmark drivers are not even made in Denmark. They are made in China.
Quality control of cheap drivers and where they are made doesn't change that they are cheap drivers. Or did you mean to imply that the Vifa tweeters that the real Peerless makes, in China, and are used in most of the AV123 lines are crap with poor quality control? Were you implying poor quality from China in regards to the cabinets of the X-LS and the rest of AV123's speakers?

He was just trying to mimick your prior post about the drivers not coming from the Peerless of Denmark but Peerless of India. If he was implying anything, it might just have been a rebuke for something he thought he read under the lines.

Here is what I would like to see:

The Axioms and Ascends(older model) have been reviewed and measured by a Soundstage Network online publication. Measurements being done at Canada's highly acclaimed NRC. I like Soundstage's reviews, particularly the ones done by Soundstage and Goodsound.

Lets hope the X-LS makes its way over there.

I don't doubt the results. I would actually prefer Stereophile to review it, because they have a more comprehensive test including individual woofer curves, step response, plus cabinet resonance and waterfall plots for decay times.

Understood. I was just thinking that since two of companies already have been reviewed by the Soundstage network, and Mark has a relationship with Bascom King(who does amplifier measurements for the Soundstage network), they all have a connection of some sort there, so it might be easier to get reviewed there.

Our new x-empower all digital integrated will be coming soon, and THAT ONE will really be an eye opener...
Will it have an adjustable bass crossover and a subwoofer out RCA connector? If so I happen to be in the market for such a product.

I am unfamiliar with the difference between peerless denmark and peerless india. I did some reading. It seems they were started together, then branched off. Several folks, including Peter Larsen, have designed drivers for peerless india. Peter Larsen was the Chief Engineer for Vifa in the past.
This would suggest a Vifa-Peerless India connection, right? Why would a former chief engineer for Vifa design some cheap drivers for Peerless India? Answer: I doubt he would.

I am just trying to become educated on where all your negativity towards av123 and peerless india is coming from, as I don't see it on the surface or after some reading.

... yet another new level of

I cannot... hard as I try... even remotely figure out what you are trying to talk about Chris... It looks like I'm not alone either...

He meant to imply that the quality level of Peerless India is superb --- and it is...

Good luck with your next leap...

All the best...

Hello you seemed to have missed my question - so at the risk of being annoying I'll throw it out again.

Upcoming center - sealed or no?

Ah ha hah, the "real Perrless". Like one is a copy or something.

You imply that one is better than the other. Just like many used to boast that drivers made in Europe were far better then those made in Asia and all the while the European companies were having their drivers made for them in Asia.

There are companies with great QC and those that have poor QC. This is the same in every country. I have had custom drivers made in a lot of countries from the US to Germany and from China and India. I have even used drivers from nearly every major manufacturer. Peerless of India is among the best.

Apologies... I thought this was answered elsewhere --- sorry

YES... it will be sealed.

I had mis-quoted some data a few weeks about this --- but indeed it will be sealed...

Thanks for your question...

Which Peerless owns the "Peerless" trademark here in the States?

Also, Danny, realizing that there are differing opinions on the Peerless of India drivers among the DIY crowd, can you tell us what other companies/models use their drivers?

I can think of a few off the top of my head, but I know that there are many more. Other companies using there woofers are JPW, AR, Totem, Roan, and a handful of others that I have seen at the CES but just can't think of them.
