Geoff,
Take it easy.
IMO, your posts in this thread have 2 clear and consistent messages.
Your posts seem to say…
1) You don’t like how the American government is fighting this war.
2) You think we Americans should get the hell out and kiss up to the rest of the world.
I’ll deal with each of these points separately…
1) You don’t like how the American government is fighting this war.
Fine. You are entitled to your opinion. I urge you to encourage your government to get involved. Show us Americans how to do it better.
All your government has to do is step in and make Iraq safe. You’ll get to stick it to us Americans and gain the love of the entire world at the same time. Simple – Right?
Wrong!
The simple truth is, I doubt your government will get involved. Why?
Because they won’t be able to fight this war any better than the Americans who are already there.
It’s easy for you to sit on the sidelines, point out what’s wrong, and scream insults. But things change very quickly when you’re actually fighting.
Also, you are not in a position to give any strategy about fighting battles in this war. Don’t kid yourself into believing you actually know what’s happening. Your news is filtered and slanted - just like the American news. Bottom line…
The only people who actually know what’s happening, are the ones running the war!
It’s that simple.
2) You think we Americans should get the hell out and kiss up to the rest of the world.
Sorry to be the one to tell you but – It’s not going to happen!
I’m not happy to be at war but I don’t want to leave the job unfinished.
When Americans entered Iraq militants didn’t run the streets killing anything and everything they didn’t like. So when Americans leave…
There should be order and freedom in Iraq.
I strongly believe that it’ll be worse if we just pull out now. Geoff, you know what will happen don't you? You said it yourself…
How many will die because the second in command will carry on, unstopped?
Will this be better? If so, better for whom?
As for kissing up, why?
America is taking the heat for this war. Americans are paying for this war. Everyone else is sitting back and talking about how bad America is.
Besides, look at your own country’s history. Have you ever heard the phrase…
“People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”
I do have problems with this war. But I try to look for solutions. You, Geoff, seem to be venting anger about the war. That is your right, but everyone else will just throw it right back at you.
Enjoy,
Panther
