So, that's your answer?

Really quite feeble, logically challenged, dripping with leftie rhetoric, and lacking any facts to back it up, I'd say.

Geoff said:
How many? Well, with all the Delta Force and special ops that are supposed to be there, probably about as many as copped it when Saddam was captured.
So, you call that an answer? No, that's rhetoric, pure and simple.

Geoff said:
How many will die because the second in command will carry on, unstopped?.
Really now, how would keeping him alive prevent someone from taking over? Don't you think that "second in command" will be a little more concerned about his life knowing that he's not going to be able to sit in a cushy jail while he plays the judicial system for everything he can ...like saddam is?

Geoff said:
More to the point, since when has the coallition given a toss about "innocent lives"???
So, you think we're indiscriminate killers, eh? Had we NOT been concerned about innocent lives, we would OWN that plot of land and all the oil under it.

You DO know that with that last statement you've just proven rj right, doncha?

Thanks for playing! You're the weakest link!

My take on it says there wasn't a way to take him alive. Even the best trained armies aren't going to barge through an insurgent friendly neighborhood without notice....and to think he wasn't sitting on some serious fire-power is absurd. Anyone remember Udai and Qusai???

More to the point, since when has the coallition given a toss about "innocent lives"???
....but yeah we're just a bunch of murdering chuckle-heads:rolleyes:

I don't even need to comment on your second statement. I know sarcasm when I read it.

Not only does he "get it", but he's living it. (check out his location)

Matt: I know you trained Beast not to eat junk food, but do you think she could just take one bite out of Geoff? :)

Geoff must be from D.C. since he has all that absolute knowledge. He's probably been to Iraq too, since he knows all about what's going on there. In fact, I'll wager he's been in on every high-level international strategic planning session, by golly and in his spare time managed to follow Condie and GW around to witness their trist that he's so certain happened. LOL.

Nuthin' better than FACTS, ma'am.

If the coalition did not care about innocents, then why have they not carpet-bombed the entire region (or at least key areas in Iraq) and be done with "all" the Muslim fanatics?

Agree, but he's not. If I read him correctly, he was extremely proud of himself when he said it. I wonder if he still is?

In the end, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi deserves no more than a quick, unceremonious burial in an umarked grave in the most desolate place on Earth, with his name never mentioned again.

Are you for real? Call yourself a Patriot? I tell you that the number of innocents I think would be killed if you'd sent troops in would be less than the number that will now be killed because the air force have just blown away key intel. Sounds pretty sensible to me. But you, as the boards' obvious intellectual, think it's feeble rhetoric.

You also state I sounded "proud" when I asked since when the coallition gave a toss about innocent lives. Are you just really, really brainy, or are you psychic, because it would take one heck of a brain to find "pride" in that sentence.

You just don't get it do you? You have some kind of chip on your shoulder. Americans are being taken for a ride by a "government" that is cleaning you out financially, destroying your military and generally turning upside down everything your forefathers fought for.... honesty, decency, freedom from tyrannical rule. You Americans did that (and the French).

You brought hope to the world's "underclass", the people that were put down and kept down by greedy, scheming tyrants. You stood up to it, stopped it, gave the ordinary Joe some hope... of a better life for him and his family. And the World loved you for it.

Now the World doesn't love you (despite what Fox News says). You have to ask yourself why.

Abu Ghraib, rendition flights, 150,000 dead Iraqi civiians, faked evidence to support the war, troops not being given proper armour, buying their own uniforms, paying for food while in hospital recovering from IED's, a refusal of your president to attend funerals for those killed defending America, or allow them to be shown on TV.

If I were an American, I would feel the only patriotic thing to do now would be to support your troops and bring them home. Let the Arabs sort their own mess out.

Your, sir, are nothing more than a liar. Even the left wing site name "Iraqi Body Count" shows between 38,000 and 42,000 dead since hostilities began over 3 years ago. You can see their anger here : Nutjob link

If you read through this site, you will clearly see it is the terrorists in Iraq who are doing the killing of civilians, not US soldiers. I looked at 500 deaths these morons had listed, and 497 of them were killed by terrorists, and the other 3 were killed in auto accidents. This means 99% of the deaths were at the hands of terrorists.

You left wing types really need to get your stories straight for a change, too. We have heard the mantra for 3 years that Iraq was not involved with Al Qaeda before the March, 2003 War started. Yet, just this week, the possible successor to Zarqawi was announced to have been in Iraq in 2002. The same left wing sites are boasting how this guy will now thumb his nose at us. Why does the left think this guy is qualified ? Because he "helped establish the first Al Qaeda base in Bahgdad in 2002". His name is Abu al-Masri, an Egyptian native.

I know this flies in the face of the crap you guys have been dishing out for the past three years, but the simple fact is Al Qaeda was in Iraq long before the invasion occured.

As for President Bush not attending funerals, if he did, Sincere, caring folks like you would criticize that for being grandstanding.

In case you did not notice, Iraq has had free and fair elections, which was the premise under which the US was founded. The US is a place where the ordinary Joe CAN still make it. In fact, over 80% of those who are millionaires in the country are first generation, and EARNED it through work. There is a reason people will risk their lives to come here. We are not perfect, but we are a good country.

Personally, Guys like Matt give me more hope than guys like you cause grief, thank GOD men like Matt are out there.

Finally, Abu Ghraib. I have an idea ... since you are SO upset at the treatment of these prisoners, I think we should petition that you and people like you should each get to house 4 of these terrorists at your place. Afterall, they would NEVER harm such an enlightened guy such as yourself. We American Taxpayers will even fund you $200 per month per prisoner to cover food costs.

Geoff said:

Yep. I was in the service and did m part to keep my country, and yours, safe so you have the freedom to spew this bile. What have you done for the world, or even your country? Post lies on the Internet anonymously?

After all, you're doing this on an American forum, aren't you?

Is it customary to urinate in your host's house where you are from or is that just something unique to your family's upbringing? No wonder you don't get invited anywhere.

Geoff said:

Well, they are already mining quite a bit of intel. Gotta love dem memory sticks and hard drives.

And, my oblivious friend, from this post here you obviously have NO experience with military logistics, although common sense alone would be enough for you to see the failures in your logic, and I use that word loosely. ...VERY loosely.

"you think"??? No, actually, you don't think. You've been playing too many video games. Here's a shocker. The world ain't like that. Once you're down you don't get to hit the reset button and start again.

I'm glad you weren't in charge of my division in the service. I want some who has a bit more background than a simple, uneducated, opinion to have command over my life and death. I want someone that has studied the art of warfare, not a petulant child.

Unless, of course, Zarqawi's death didn't come at the cost of enough American lives to suit you. Is that the case? ...sure seems like that to me.

"A million deaths were not enough for Yueh!"*

Saturday morning cartoons seem pretty sensible to children, too. Go take in a movie with PeeWee Herman.

Geoff said:

I know it is.

Maybe compared to your circle of acquaintances I would be considered an intellectual because I base my beliefs on facts, not propaganda, but here I'm just an average Joe but, I'll give you credit here. You did nail this one. Even a blind pig finds a truffle occasionally.

Yep, simply more rhetoric on your part. No thought, just reaction without thought, such as a paramecium when exposed to light or Pavlov's dog to a bell.

Geoff said:

Yep, you were gloating when you made that comment. It was obvious. I'm no the only one who noticed it, either. I guess you didn't bother to read the comments from others.

Geoff said:

Actually, from your posts here, I'd say you're the one with a chip on his shoulder, and perhaps a touch of jealousy for all we are and just a pinch of schadenfreude to boot.

Geoff said:

Yep. It would have been nice if you guys had pitched in but no, it was all up to us. Look at the thanks we get for keeping you safe and sound all these years.

Oh, and don't think you are exactly loved overseas. People both envy and fear our influence and power while you're just considered insignificant and harmless, like water on a duck's back.

Geoff said:

What's love got to do with it? Well, they all want to be our trading partners, though.

I guess they don't think we did enough to save the whole world from itself. IMNSHO, we should have let the little countries destroy each other and then swoop in and pick the bones for our benefit but no, some people believe in doing the right thing.

But, when you're the only one fighting the good fight and everyone else sits on the sideline, sucking the blood out of us and simultaneously tearing it down, what do you expect?

We rebuilt Europe and Japan after WWII. What did your country do?
We're the first ones called and the first ones to respond at times of disaster. What has your county ever done to make the world a better place?

Geoff said:

It was our tower's that came down, not yours. As usual, we'll deal with our problems as we see fit since you are powerless to either help us or stop us.

FWIW, if you read the facts, not your propaganda, you will learn (if that's possible) that most of the killings are from the insurgents. Believe it or not, we DO try to avoid harming civilians, but you don't want to believe that, do you?

How about we set up camp in your home town for the Abu Garab prisoners? I'm sure you would be proud to personally provide for their every need with glee, at least their physical ones. You could be their first virgin. Oh, those prisoners are from Afghanistan, not Iraq and they are prisoners of war. deal with it.

Now, you're imply being silly. Does your grand pooftah attend every funeral of everyone who dies in the service of yours country, assuming anyone does?

the numbers aren't enough for you? Believe it or not the the bodies are not returned or your personal viewing pleasure. The families of the soldiers are the ones that matter, not ghouls like you.

there's' an exhibit of artistically poised corpses going on in the MOMA right now that would probably get your blood rushing.

Geoff said:

You're just backpedaling now, trying to save face, but you've already lost the battle, and the war.

You're not an American so you obviously feel it's perfectly all right to insinuate we are indiscriminate killers, right?

BTW, big guy, what do you call home? I have my suspicions but, out of respect to other posters from your country here, I'll give you a chance to show us you're a man, not just another leftie coward hiding behind a moniker.

Got enough cojones to answer that? ...I didn't think so.

Boy, for a newbie you sure know how to make friends. You probably have as many "real" ones as you do here.

No I don't. I ask myself, "Why do they think I should care"?

This same comment has popped up several times in various threads - the whole world hates America... or Americans. Is that intended to be some kind of insult? It seems to point more to jealousy and an inferiority complex. So I guess we should consider it compliment.

With all its faults, America is still the greatest country on earth (just an "arrogant" Americans not-so-humble opinion). So, hated or not, "it's good to be the king".:)
