Got the Lenco fired up, right now I'm listening to Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon" on decent old vinyl, sounds great but I bought it used in a lot of PF off fleabay. Most sounded like poop until they got a good wood glue peel. This one got a lot of play, some of the detail and soundstage is diminished.
Earlier today l heard:
Montrose "Montrose" on clean old vinyl
Black Sabbath "Vol.4" on new Earmark 180g clear vinyl
Throughout the week I've listened to:
Pink Floyd "Obscured by Clouds" on pristine old vinyl
PF "Meddle" on pristine old vinyl
Slayer "God Hates Us All" on new 180g vinyl
Hot Tuna "First Pull Up, Then Pull Down" on decent old vinyl
Jimi Hendrix Experience "Axis: Bold as Love" on new 180g mono vinyl
Skinny Puppy "The Process" on CD
Black Sabbath "Master of Reality" on new NEMS 180g vinyl
Miles Davis "Kind of Blue" on new 180g mono vinyl
Blue Oyster Cult "Blue Oyster Cult" on decent old prerecorded cassette
Ten Years After "A Space in Time" on 40 year old TDK from a new (then) vinyl, sounds perfect
Scorpions "In Trance" on clean old vinyl

Listening to this on CD

Tampa Red is relatively obscure compared to other Blues man in the sense that he doesn't get mentioned a lot. The fact that Muddy Waters and others borrowed heavily from Tampa Red goes to show how good a bluesman he really was. This is an excellent postwar collection of his blues and the production of this latest release is outstanding. I own two other albums of his which is prewar and the recording quality is poor. I encourage anyone who isinto the blues to get this.
