So I was going through the vinyl weeding out the bad ones. I came across a Toscanini box set with Ludwig's 1-9. Since I like the ninth, I was going to use that to determine if these 6 mono albums were to begin with in good enough condition to keep and to end with, good performances. The album itself is uber clean but the Watts Dust Bug amassed a oddly large dust bunny.

Well, ole Arturo did a pretty good job. I wanted to get rid of the box set but it must stay ... along with the clicks and pops. Would something like that be available on CD? Probably ...

You may have guessed by now that I'm very much a Blues enthusiast and I listen to all blues regardless of sub genre such as delta, chicago, country, etc blues.. Well I listened to R.L Burnside " A Pocket Ass Of Whiskey on 180gm vinyl . All I can say is that this album brings a new sub genre of blues to the table.... I call it "Angry Blues" for lack of a better description. You guys be the judge.

I interrupted some Duke Ellington/Johnny Hodges to hear that and ... I'm going back.

Lot's of good sax and I think trumpet going on on side 4: Just a Memory.

Its a different kinda blues for sure.
