Nope, not at all, but Trump and the Republicans where very "serious" about the danger of the deficit. ;)
Hopefully this time around it will be better than his last four year stint, time will tell, but suffice it to say few if any of us here are holding are breath !

A D-?, your so kind. :)
He's done a better job with the southern border in his first 100 days than Biden, thus the D- , otherwise I'd give me an F

Now that is low bar, I'd say. The new budget along with the tax cuts will yet again increase the deficit by the trillions over the years. Even Krugman has been concerned for some time about the deficit.

NBC Meet the Press interview was revealing.
"
The revealing exchange, on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” was prompted by the interviewer Kristen Welker asking Mr. Trump if he agreed with Secretary of State Marco Rubio that citizens and noncitizens in the United States were entitled to due process.
“I don’t know,” Mr. Trump replied. “I’m not, I’m not a lawyer. I don’t know.”
Ms. Welker reminded the president that the Fifth Amendment says as much.
“I don’t know,” Mr. Trump said again. “It seems — it might say that, but if you’re talking about that, then we’d have to have a million or two million or three million trials.” Left unmentioned was how anyone could be sure these people were undocumented immigrants, let alone criminals, without hearings.

Mr. Trump responded “I don’t know” one more time and referred to his “brilliant lawyers” when Ms. Welker asked whether, as president, he needed to “uphold the Constitution of the United States.”

I'm still not sure if really doesn't know, or if he's playing dumb as a way to avoid taking responsibility in the court of public opinion.

If he's just playing dumb, he totally nailed it.

It’s disturbing that Trump is apparently relying heavily on Stephen Miller, perhaps in part because of Trump’s mental decline. When Trump said “that’s not what my people told me” when asked about the Supreme Court ruling, Trump’s statement was technically true if Trump was referring to Miller’s false statements about the Supreme Court decision.

Trump apparently relies on Miller not because Miller has expertise, but rather the exact opposite. Miller has no expertise and he tells Trump what Trump wants to hear.

A somewhat similar dynamic was apparent in the leaked Signal chat. The others in the chat quickly retreated when Miller reminded them what Trump apparently wanted. It’s not entirely clear if Miller was accurately relaying what Trump wanted or if he was stating what he wanted, knowing that Trump would follow his advice.

Miller may have good political instincts when it comes to rather extreme messaging that will appeal to voters looking for magical solutions to real problems, but he seems to have no ability to implement magical solutions.

And that’s my huge opinion (I obviously have no inside knowledge about any of this, so the sbove involves a great deal of guesswork on my part).
In so many words, Trump said Stephen Miller is running the show.

>>>“Stephen Miller is at the top of the totem pole. I think he sort of indirectly already has that job,” Trump told NewsNation’s Libbey Dean aboard Air Force One when asked whether Miller was under consideration for the post.<<<
