I might be in the minority here about Ukraine.
EU may be pissed off because Trump and Hegseth essentially cut them off and spoke directly with Putin first. Where were they the last three years? Why didn't they have their own policy? Europe has been playing second fiddle expecting USA to take the lead on every issue even those that directly affects their security starting with NATO and now they get upset? Sorry can't have it both ways. Ukraine war essentially became a forever war when Russian military so dramatically showed off their incompetence in the first ground push - remember when their vehicles ran out gas and there were no resupply? In the meantime we borrowed and spent about $130B in military and other aid to Ukraine. Yes, most of the money was spent in USA but that is still borrowed money for which we are on the hook for the interest - socialization of debt and privatization of profits.
I vehemently disagree with Trump on most of his issues but in this case it is time for US to get out Ukraine's war and let Europe handle it on their own if they want to continue to support it. I can almost guarantee they will not.
Finally on the Russia's military has proven to be tissue paper bear. NATO and US leadership made sense after WW2 when Europe was broken. Now EU is nearly as big an economy as us, time for them to take the lead of their own defense, we should be in the background and step in only if any war in Europe starts to go sideways.
