If you meant power rating, say, +/-100W/ch; Any newer one will be better in every possible way.

If you meant cost, Canuck has it sold for $220, so lets say +/-$250; You will not find anything in this price range that can beat the amps, but then you miss out on the processing 7.1, any of the HD, HDMI, etc.

Depends how you intend to use it.

I'm still runnng a 2802 and do my video switching via the TV and my audio selection in the Denon. Analog MC on the Denon accept the analog output of my Blyu-ray player so I don't lack for performance and it's got enough good, clean power to drive my speakers to insane levels.

What newer features can you not live without?

Then again, I'm a cheap SOB. :D Unless some new things pop up (like when DPL went to DD/DTS), I'll probably keep it until it dies.
