I have a couple of items to get rid of. I'm thinking to just toss them in the electronics recycling heap, but figured I'd make sure there wasn't anything worth salvaging in them, etc.
First is a JVC XL-MCC222 CD changer (200 disc). I thnk it quit running about 8 years ago when I moved. In the chaos of moving everything I left discs in it and didn't think about them being lodged in the unit when I hooked it up and tried to operate it. The local shop say cost more to fix than it is worth (which seems reasonable, it was inexpensive).
Next is more interesting - a Nakamichi 581Z discrete head cassette deck. Unfortunately, I just opened and closed the cassette bay door and the open button did not pop back out, and now I cannot open it (without disassembly). The transport/logic seems to work (which is a surprise figuring the belts have been in one position for the past 16 years)!
