why would she complain about the huge beautiful 73" tv? How many people wouldn't want that in thier house, provided they have enough room, and the viewing distance is great enough.... btw, how far away are you sitting from the tv?

My wife got me right back after my TV was delivered; the next Saturday a truck drove up and two guys started bringing in all new bedroom furniture. I looked at her and started to say something and she pointed to the Mits and said "dont you say a word".
No we will leave that up to Nimrod for pulling this off. I had my day in the sun doing the same thing. Except I just had the stuff delivered and never told her. She was the one that greeted the delivery truck. The SVS was nothing. The 73" Mitsu was the trouble maker. Then again the SVS was a year after the 73". LOL :D

Thanks for asking

Okay, still breathing..... It was close.... touch and go...
Down right hostile around the Nimrod mansion for a couple of days.
"We don't have a freaking mansion... What the hell are you thinking.... that thing is waaaaaaaaaaaay to big.... that thing is a piece of furniture... no way, etc.."

Then she saw all the other boxes in the garage (center channel and the 4 bookshelves) and she's REALLY not happy:eek:

The benefits (wisdom) gained after being married 20 years = HUNKER DOWN like the Russians at Stalingrad, wait her out.

She's still kind off *****ing about it; she made me move the sub to the other side of the living room (so we could put the Christmas tree in the first spot)

I explained the benefits of all the new av stuff, "it makes me happy, we need this, its our home, etc." I been light hearted (but not an *** kisser) about everything in general so the situation is being "Diffused"

Bottom line, I think Mrs. Nimrod is going to let me keep it:rolleyes:
Don't let Mrs. Scrooge "Baah Humbug" over your HT upgrades. I'm sure that after 20 years of marriage, you can take control of the situation and make her happy with your decision.

In my experience, the best defense is a good offense when it comes to HT.
(the opposite applies to OSU football where the best defense is a good defense) HEH

The plan was to go Mountain Biking tonight after work, but the weather is not looking good. In the event of a Snow out, I'll setup the bookshelfs:rolleyes: That'll raise her ire further :D

You want to clinch the deal AND get extra points??? Send her some roses, not the cheap ones at the supermarket or the free ones at the local cemetery, call a florist and get her some, then sit back for some over-sized extra credit.:D

Thanks Halon!

It’s all about implementing a tactical battle plan, (we need it, I must have it, this is our home and we’ll enjoy it together, etc.) and keeping an even temperament (Never get emotional)

Ha! Right on - that's easy for me to do, not so with the wifey. She's good at blowing her top when I get out of hand. Still, there are times when we must rise to the challenge and accept our directives, formulate our plan, outline the mission and engage.

It's war gentlemen.... for some of us at least. May our battle scars indicate our eventual triumphs. :D

Uh huh. Tactical battle plan. Go ahead. Just when you think you've won all the battles...you suddenly find you've lost the war!

"How did that happen??!!", you'll ask. They're a sneaky bunch AND they're much smarter than we are. Take it to the bank. It's not over, Nimrod. You watch. You'll see. Revenge is a dish (they know) is best served cold. Brrrrrr. :(

What's wrong is that you didn't strike first! :D

Edit: Man, I am so foolish in my ways...
