NVIDIA Shield TV Pro Should You Buy?
there are many promoter manufacturers for products online

and there are many customer complaints that complain that there is a problem with a product

no YouTube HDR
no HDR 10+
the same CPU as the 2017 system

nVidia Shield Pro outputting Netflix Dolby Vision. Seemingly RGB 8bit in 709
how is 8 BIT called HDR?

UB820 playing The Matrix in Dolby Vision. Seemingly RGB 8bit in 2020.
how is 8 BIT called HDR?

which is "correct"? Should the nVidia Shield Pro be in 2020? Am I misunderstanding how all this should work?

If you are going to be using a media player like this, wouldn't the other issue with dtsx be a non issue. You would pass thru to the media player and either the media player will decode or your avr will.

Also what display do you have? Some of your above questions might not matter if the display can't fully cover the color gaumet.

Listing all your gear when asking for help, would be a tremendous help to others.

because I see that you reply to all forums without having the product or understanding !
No worries. Since you joined yesterday and know so much about my help. Carry on.

It’s not clear if Samsung will prevail with HDR10+ over Dolby Vision. Whoever gets the most streaming content over the next couple years will probably win.

Samsung will continue with the HDR10 + for years to come
although there is really no HDR10 + movie on the net to download ?
maybe just streaming on Amazon ?

has anyone tested the product against the Windows HDR
because HDR in Windows- opens the HDR
gives bad quality in Windows .

need a special computer processor to see a good HDR in Windows
because Windows doesn't write anything !

What? I have two HDR capable Windows PCs and they work just fine transmitting HDR to my displays that support it. Same with my Shield TV. I have three of them and have no issues on that front.

What actual problems are YOU having? There are TONS of options in the Shield and Windows when it comes to color bit depth, resolution, frame rate, etc. so you have to be careful what you pick.

Thank you for your help

But Windows doesn't transmit a good HDR
People don't know what HDR is and how it looks right!
they don't even have HDR calibration.

you need to keep in mind that PC players are currently based on passive encoders
and NO rec 2020 NO rec 2100 NO rec DCI-P3
( sooooo win can't transfer UHD ) !!!

not suitable for dynamic encoding
and change each image according to the movie light
and so many movie quality are in problems !

quote :
" there is a problem that keeps coming back
the filters are pre-made and do not fit automatically!
It really helps save CPU power.
But it destroys all good quality and color matching and lighting quality !
This is your player's biggest problem . "

"
Audiophiles - Because the filters are not dynamic in your player in pc, no quality, no life in sound, you got the best quality in sound today with DTS-X + dd+ Atmos
and player in pc, managed to kill everything living in sound ! ( Because it is passive inactive coding (active coding adapts itself dynamically and to every image in video and sound)

Why the bad quality in computer players ?
1. Years ago, people didn't know what quality was, and they got it for free!
2. It was not worth investing money in developing that player in pc for free
3. Dynamic coding - requires good computers, lots of processors, processing power, processing commands!
Engineers who spend many days in development are coded
4. People Wanted all free and were not willing to invest in expensive computer, expensive software !

quote : "
Once upon a time, the players needed electricity and needed quality cores on the computer for 1080P !
today there is 4K and the players do not need electricity or cores on the computer!
and the video quality through the computer is worse than 10 years ago + "

( Because it is passive inactive coding (active coding adapts itself dynamically and to every image in video and sound)
