Ok...I am keeping the 40's and going to add an amp and some room treatment.
Help me decide on the amp:

Emotiva RPA1
Emotiva LPA1
0r 3 Behringer A-500's

I was thinking the RPA1 but open for suggestions. I have a budget of 1k for the amp and room treatments.

The wife has gave approval on doing something like these panels for treatments (attached)

Greg,

Just to add a little fuel to the fire you could go with a MPS-1 chassis and just put 2 or 3 of the amp modules in it. This way you get the same power rating as the RPA but you can add modules later if you decide you need to.

WOW..... I didn't know you could do that.... Now that is a class act product of magnanimous proportions..... !!!!!!

Thats exactly what I would do.... get that chassis with 3 or 5 cards of 200watts each.... Ultimately adk is correct, and I highly doubt you would need more then 3 channels, and let that Pioneer handle the rears...

Problem solved !!!!!!

I'm too lazy to go look...does Emotiva have a listed price structure for that? I didn't even know that you could do that. That would be cool, though. Makes me second guess my decision to get the RPA-1.

Call and talk to Lonnie at Emotiva and he will price it out. The web site does not have the chassis cost only the modules. I just noticed they are showing a backorder on the MPS-1 until 9/1 so that may be a deal breaker.:(

I know they would do this as when I was getting mine Lonnie told me about one they were building with the dual channel modules. That was a 14channel amp:eek: and weighted 158lbs (sheep).

Here is a link to the review here and you can see how the modules go into the chassis http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/amplifiers/emotiva-mps-1

I was going to mention that too, but aside from calling them, I had never seen that info up on their website. I knew I had seen someone who had done this before too though.

Seems like a great idea but you know me; I will have trouble waiting until September.

Work on the treatments until September. Use one thing to distract yourself :).

Freakin cool.... That ability to have any configuration Amp layout is making me second guess my Rotel 1095...

I think both of those Room Treatments look cool.... and Im all about that...

How much were either of those Greg...? Oh and give us some links also...

Just wait until you see how much those cost...
Aurelex is not cheap.... I paid a good penny for my setup from them... but to me they look good

Oh and let us know how much for the different configurations on the amp...

I could possibly be interested in 6 channel...

Great; something else expensive? Maybe I can play it off as room decor

Just get 3 Bags for $90 and a pack of 705 for $120 or a pack of 703 for $80

That's $57 and $73 per panel respectively.

6 panels (3 built with 705 and 3 built with 703) would be ~$400. Alternatively you could do one layer of 705 with a layer of 703 underneath to get 6 identical panels. There are lots of options.

Like I said, someone posted and showed that this was a possibility (one I have considered myself), but I never saw any mention of it on their site....since I don't have the info and I have not spoken to them, I couldn't very well tell him that it was a possibility :)
