Seriously, I have no life.
I nominate Lombardi's in Little Italy NYC, I've yet to taste better. Start throwing the rocks gentlemen.
I'll go along with that, even without tasting it:D Hard to come up with one unless many have been tasted and fresh in memory:D
But, do you have access to that?

Mr. M,

Access? I wish I could have Lombardi's everyday.:D Everytime I go up to NYC I stop at Lombardi's, their crust, sauce and mozzarella have no equal, I don't know why, maybe the water:D or maybe so many years of perfecting the recipe has yielded a superior pizza. Have you ever tried it? If not, do yourself a favor, next time in NYC go to Lombardi's, you wont regret it.

Only problem with Lombardi's is that the lines are ridiculously long and you have to order a whole pie. For slices alone John's is amazing.

If anybody who's not from or has never been to NYC wants to come visit, I'll put together a complete itinerary of everywhere you should eat... just be prepared to stay 2-30 years :D

Our last trip was a very short "foodie" trip, 3 days, no kids. We ate at Babo's, Mesa Grill, Lombardi's, Ray's Original, El Posto, all excellent, NYC can't be beat when it comes to good food. We do have pretty good Italian spot near where I live, called Randazzos, best meatballs in Miami:), no pizza.:(

Congrats!!

I can take orders.... You let me know what you want and I can have it shipped down to Miami. Mozzarella will survive overnight shipping... not so sure about pizza though :D
Pack it in dry ice and you will be all set to go. Overnight shipping will be pricey though. :D

You could always see if they will sell you one uncooked and pack it in dry ice. Still expensive though. Be sure to wrap pizza in plastic. Put the dry ice in sealed bags around it. Use a heavily insulated carton.

Miami is home to the best Cuban food I've ever eaten. Restaurant called Havana Harry's (it is a silly name...)- have you every been?? It was recommended to us by a friend who came over from Cuba on a raft (read: a dresser drawer).

Ray's original will actually ship you a frozen pizza overnight.

The only problem with an uncooked pizza is that your oven will never get it quite right like a real pizza oven does. I love to cook, and I've tried many times... there's just something missing...

Nope - I agree. I think it's also the water - something is different about water in NYC, that makes that stuff taste so good up there.

Man, I'm hungry now... :(

Are we talking nationally recognized chains, or any place anywhere? It might be hard to argue without a means of product comparison. :)
You must be a true Floridian.

There is NO WAY a nationally recognized chain should even be mentioned when talking New York, Chicago pizza.

NO WAY  :D

For those in New York, if your ever in Maspeth Queens.

Rosa's Pizza
5526 69th St
Maspeth, NY 11378
(718) 446-5910

I would put this place up against any of the New York pizzerias mentioned. If your into Sicilian pies, Outstanding. :D

I don't doubt it... I don't get out to MAspeth often (and by often I mean never :D) but it's something to keep in mind.

The best thing about this area is that there are a million great places and everybody has the local place that they love which is the BEST EVER. So no matter where you go, you can always find great pizza.

No, not close at all to NYC and not sure if, but certainly will keep it in mind;)
They should franchise or deep freeze it and overnight it:D from the sound of it

There's strong evidence that they were America's first pizza, they still have their wood fired oven from 1904 and that's their second!
