I thought speakers would be easier to pick than the receiver. I would get my receiver tomorrow but no speakers to test it. YUCK !
Speakers are the hardest item to pick because they're so subjective. There's only one way to find what you like and that's to audition tons of them. You should always shop for speakers before shopping for anything else as they have the largest impact on the sound.

Speakers require the most time to select

oh come on. This should not be this hard.

How does one decide ? i have to buy online to its not that i can listen to a few and compare them ! What am i looking for in a speaker. I think i am willing to spend 200$ on the speakers now !
Why do you have to buy speakers online? Proper speaker purchases involves you to audition them for yourself because no one hears exactly how you do. Bring some DVDs and or CDs that you know very very well as well as a pad of paper and take down notes on what they sound like to you. Is the bass nice and tight and controlled or does it sound sloppy and uncontrolled. Does it go deep? Does the midrange sound natural and lifelike or small and recessed? Does the treble sound smooth and accurate or does it sound irritating, tiring or grating? How does the soundstage sound (more noticeable with 2 channel music. Can you locate various instruments within the ensemble? How does it sound playing slighty loud? Those are the kinda things you need to look for. The last thing you wanna do is have a regret saying "if only I took the time ot audition and pick out the speaker that sounds right for me"

Here's a link to the PSB model I was referring to earlier;

The PSB Alpha 1s don't appear to be within the OP's budget.

ok i saw an add on craigslist . one guy was selling a klipsch speaker system

2 klipsch SB2 front speakers
Klipsch KSW10 sub
Klipsch SC5 center
Klipsch SS5 rears

All the stuff < 3 years old. He asked me to make an offer. I thought all i need is front speakers so i'd keep the rest of the stuff in storage for future purposes or sell it...I offered him 325$. He took it and i got the whole system. So far i only hooked the front speakers only and this is knockout stuff guys. Best sound ever. ! My room is 18x16 feet but seems like the 2 speakers are good enough. People living below me..poor sods ! Don't know if i made the right offer or not but i love what i got so i am happy.

I am glad i spent all this money on a sound system. I never had one before. But it is totally worth it !

Thanks for all your help guys. Appreciated !
