Hey, This seems the place to ask about all things audio. I'm looking for new headphones for my ipod mainly, but also sometimes psp and laptop. I currently have a pair of Sony Fontopias (like these: http://www.lordpercy.com/sonyfont.jpg ) For whatever reason one bud is much less loud than the other now (dunno what happend). Regardless I'm looking for a change - something less than $60 I'm not sure I like the canal phone thing. They are just persistently a bit uncomfortable and require constant adjustment to maintain a good seal. They work themselves out easily when exercising or even walking briskly (as I do to class). Do many have this problem with canalphones or is it just me? I'm looking for something that's fairly small and of the behind the head style as not to interfere with my sunglasses or hats or whatever. I'll be using them mainly while studying and walking to class but also less often for running and working out so I dont want anything that will easily pop out of my ear. I'm definately not an audiophile but I want good sound quality. I can't stand the headphones the ipod comes with nor most other cheap, stock headphones. Noise canceling is not necesary but nice to have as long as it isn't intrusive (I dont want the adapter thing to be swinging around or getting in the way). Here's what I've come up with so far: Philips SHN5500 - http://reviews.cnet.com/headphones-headsets/philips-shn5500-headphones/4505-6468_7-32013842.html?tag=pdtl-list&ar=o Bose In-Ear - http://reviews.cnet.com/headphones-headsets/bose-triport-in-ear/4505-6468_7-32150146.html?tag=pdtl-list I know these have gotten a lot of bad press but I like that they are small like canalphones, don't get pressed way in your ear, and sound good. Lotta base though for better or worse. Sennheiser PMX 60 - http://reviews.cnet.com/headphones-headsets/sennheiser-pmx-60-headphones/4505-6468_7-30582130.html?tag=pdtl-list Sennheiser PMX 100 - http://reviews.cnet.com/headphones-headsets/sennheiser-pmx-100-headphones/4505-6468_7-31674329.html?tag=prod.txt.1 I don't know if there's much of a difference between the last two but they get good reviews and some say the 100's are a bit better (also a bit more expensive. I'd really appreciate any advice cause the fact is I don't know that much about audio, but I hate headphones that sound bad. Thanks.
