So I have recently aquired a great system from my dad for my new apartment in college. The speakers are Bolivar Model 64s. The speakers are a little rough id say, from what ive read they are some really solid speakers but i feel like they need to be revamp so to speak. From the sound my dad and i assumed that the woofers were cracked, but when i took them apart they show no signs of cracking, well at least to a novice like myself. However the foam surrounding the woofer is dry rotted and just falling apart. I looked into buying new foam surrounds but havent come up with a whole lot. I want these speakers to be really solid throughout their use at school, i want them to be great for loud music for party but still good for watching movies and sports. My question is do i repair the speakers ive got for probably around 60-80$ or do i spend the money on a new set? Id appreciate any imput on this, thanks in advance

that's a good deal ... but i believe that's for 1 pc x-cs. for a pair, 89USD x 2
That is why you lay the speaker on it's side. 1 driver on the left, and 1 on the right for stereo.

id want 2 at least, for loudness and to eventually build a 5.1 surrouns system.
