No sound through rear speakers

My setup is as follows:

Onkyo TX SR 875
Polk RM6600 speakers and PSW350 sub
PS3

I did the setup using Audessey. But when I play any CD or stream music through the PS3, I do not get any music through the surround speakers - except in All Ch mode.

Can someone guide me where I'm going wrong...

Keep in mind that CD audio and music is only 2 channel material. The only way you're going to get music through the surround speakers is if you use the 5 channel stereo or PLIIX or something like that which turns the 2 channel signal into sort of a fake surround signal. When you play movies does the surround work alright?

I am not getting the option of PLII Music. Does it need more than a 5.1 configuration for a CD through PS3?

Yes, the DVDs work with surround sound.

What are the recommended listening modes for CDs?

When you change the surround options its something you'll do on the reciever.

There is no reccomended mode to listen to cd's, It comes down to what you like. Some people like the effect of surround or 5 channel stereo. Personally I like it in 2 channel stereo.
