I was going to bring up the $500 / ft Power cable but cwall99 beat me to it. I wanted to add. Don't these people realize that they are plugging this $3000 cable into a 50 cent outlet that is connect to 10 cent / ft cables, probably split a few times and smashed flat by romex staples running to their fuse box?
Good point, my guess is that since they can't see it, it doesn't exist! ;)

Please stop confusing me with facts.
You know what the Talking Heads said about facts, don't you?

In case you don't, here:

Facts are simple and facts are straight
Facts are lazy and facts are late
Facts all come with points of view
Facts dont do what I want them to
Facts just twist the truth around
Facts are living turned inside out
Facts are getting the best of them
Facts are nothing on the face of things
Facts dont stain the furniture
Facts go out and slam the door
Facts are written all over your face
Facts continue to change their shape
---------------
So just be careful when it comes to facts. Can't trust 'em.

And what's the first thing that happens to that 60 Hz 110 VAC once it's inside your amplifier, receiver, turntable, whatever?

That's right, a transformer does its magic to convert it to DC and whatever lower voltages your device needs.

Granted, I'm not a double-E, but it sure seems silly.
