Yep, 4 hours left and they are at $1,275.00.

Maybe I will just buy them for myself so I can say that I have used EBay.
Those are nice but they will hit will over a grand before it ends. I did a completed listings search on ebay and the 5 sets that sold this month all went for over 1400 bucks.

Bookshelves that inexpensive that go down to 44Hz?
Company was bought-out. Jobs moved to China. MB Quart China products are junk.

German employees re-opened under new brand. German Maestro. Prices are premium.http://www.german-maestro.de/US/index.htm

The handmade in Germany car stuff that is left is demanding premium money on ebay.

This is the only place that has the bookshelf speakers left. They do demand premium amplification.

I have had four of the floor-standing models(QLS 830) since '03. Have yet to hear comparable quality for the money. The store I purchased my speakers from is selling the same speakers I have for $700pr more than what I paid in '03.

I have the same series but one size up from Zumbo's 830's which are the 1030's. I spent 4 months listening to nearly every speaker that was availble in the St. Louis area before settling on my Quarts. I would say if you are planning to spend in that price range you will not be disappointed for the money. I believe those were originally sold for about $1600 a pair.

Still looking for the right deal from one of you guys dumping a nice set of cheap speakers. Looking for something in the $200-$300 range for the 2 books.

Being you are the dawg, hows about a pair of Atoms? They can be had for $200 or less.
If you'd consider towers, check out Audio Advisor's Athena 300's. Closeout now for $99 each.

Behringer 2030P and a cheap stereo receiver is a nice set up or a pair of Audioengine A2s for nearfield is another good idea on the cheap (and they are self powered). Either of those is a great intro to quality sound.

A bit pricier, but you wouldn't need a sub with these - and they are nearby.

With your skills, I bet that you could talk him down. The auction has been up for 10 days, and he wants to sell ASAP.

I think it is a combo of all we did.

I am sure I had some nasty virus so reformatting, adding the anti-virus software and switching to FireFox must have fixed the issues. I swear it is faster than when I first bought it.
Happy to hear it! You saved some good money on that. Do you think that it's due to Firefox or something else?

No kidding. I really don't want to spend much but if I can get some good used speakers at a great price, it will be hard to pass up.

I think I have the AVR squared away.

$450 is as low as he will go if I pick them up at his house.

What do you think?

Do you think the Pioneer VSX-1016txv will drive these 6ohm, 86db sensitive speakers ok? He lives in a small apartment.
