Good find! You said this has bass....Dumb question...Have you actually messed with these speakers? And how are the mids/treble?

EDIT: Also...Do you know if the wattage stated is RMS or Peak?

I know Brian has had a set of Fluance speakers, not sure if it were those exactly. He almost had me convinced on getting them but I was able to bump my budget quite a bit.

Well what are the pro's/con's of these speakers, remember I'm on a $700 budget here....I like the looks of those speakers on paper, but I've never heard of Fluance...How would I find a fluance retailer in my area? The zip is 32506 if that helps

Is there any reasons that would warrant spending the extra $100 for the sx series?

Not really. They are both built very similar. If you like the looks of the sx series, then by all means get it. I have given plenty of posts on these many months ago.
For your budget you may be hard pressed to find better. Now if that 700.00 was just for speakers then that would be a different story. But since that 700 is for all, I think the options I and others gave are going to be similar. The Fluance IMO will give you about the best bang for buck (for that budget).

They have only really received good reviews. Even the guy I sold my set to here on AH, says for the budget they are just about perfect.

The weakest part of the Fluance set is the center channel speaker. So you may want to haggle with Fluance on upgrading to their better center.

You must realize, although these are good speakers and are built very well, they are by no means perfect. But for their budget, I'm sure no one would complain.

IMO, they are very musical. But lack a tad for HT.
But don't let that discourage you, any speaker at this price point will not be audiophile perfect by no means.

Well musical is what I'm looking for.....Now with the pioneer amp and this speaker set I have around $80 to spare....And looking at their upgrade center, it's only $60 more....Which still gives me like $10-$20 headroom....How much do you think I could resell the center that comes with that 5 piece set for?

You should be able to get 40.00 for it on eBay.
However don't quote me on that..... Or if you want, just use it as the 6th channel.
For a 6.1 set.......

Hold on. Wait a minute.

Read the reviews carefully. That is bs. No one that has owned Paradigm, MB Quart, and other top names purchased these speakers and states they are top notch. They are flat-out lying. They probably wanted better brands, and saw these and purchased them.

Don't be fooled.

And don't forget about cables & speaker wire. They can eat-up money quickly.

And, none of the reviews list componets they are using. If they do, it sure looks made-up to me. Those reviews are NOT by members or staff of Audioholics.

The only reviews that look a slight bit lagit are the ones that state Bose as similar products compared.

They might be worth the money, but not my money.

I am linking the complete system Audioholics recommends as an entry level system. The Athenas they recommend are nice, but it comes with a sub. The Infinity system I recommended has larger drivers and no sub.http://www.audioholics.com/showcase/systemguide/1Kentrylevelsystem.php

Now say if I did up my budget for speakers to the $700 mark....Then what would you reccomend....And for a 5.0 system (I already have the sony dual 10" sub)?

What for?

The last set of speakers I purchased were my MB Quarts. Around $2500.00

Before that, it was my Cerwin Vega D-7's in 1985. $1000.00

I don't know why you keep editing the post....
And not answering my question.
Also HE DOES NOT HAVE $1,000.00 to spend............
So that Audioholics sets (which are generalized) is well out of his intended budget.

What for, clearly you are calling 25 different people a liar.

And a 2500.00 set obviously would be no comparison (it sounds to me like you have never hit hard times)

I read the reviews, and also some profesional reviews. They are great speakers for the budget.

I by chance have had a set of them as well as many other sets for comparison.

And Zumbo, after the 3rd post you still did not mention a set with Floorstanding Speakers.....Sorry if I am sounding jackassed, but, I want some floorstanding speakers, and am willing to dump about $700 into a set.....The Fluance set is looking good....But I would really like to know how to find out if there is a retailer in my area...Also I might just have to give the ol' boss Phil a call....For those of you who wonder who he is...Goto www.homecinemaandhifi.com ...I used to work for that company as a prewiring installer....Don't know jacks*** about speakers though....All I can remember him telling me and emphasizing on the fact that you can get better speakers than bose for quite a bit less....Or maybe that was Mason that told me that...I do remember Mason telling me that most of the money is just for the name

EDIT: and correction on the room size. It is a 10 X 12 room (My bedroom)
EDIT #2: And this is the system I currently have: Sony STR-K750P with all stock speakers except for the sub

I am a grown man with a wife and a job. Life is hard for everyone.
And, there are some reviews of the Fluance with MB Quarts mentioned along with Paradigm as compared speakers. You can't get a 5 speaker set from MB Quart under 2500

A 10 year old with a computer can leave a speaker review on that link that was posted.

Brian wouldn't recommend a bad set of speakers. He's gone through quite a bit of equipment, so I'd trust him on the Fluance if you've got enough power.

I'm still a big fan of BIC Venturi's. The DV84 and 64 towers, DV62si bookshelves, and CLRS62 center are my favorite for a budget system. I'd even consider the Dayton 12" sub to allow more room for a better receiver. I think Amazon has the BIC Venturi's, and part$ expre$$ has the $121 sub.

You can also find deals sometimes at Onecall.com and Ubid.com. Just keep your eyes open.

I am trying to look out for your best interest. You have a budget. You can get a better small speaker to use with your sub for the money. I linked the recommended system for 1k to show you what the pros at Audioholics recommend. If the Fluance was the way to go, don't you think it would be on there. That 1k system is for tv, sub, and everything. I, along with others picked the Pioneer off that system. And the Athenas were mentioned as well.

Do a search on this sites homepage.(not the forum) You won't find squat about them. There has to be a reason no-one has reviewed them.
