New speakers suggestions

Well, I talked to the manager and he stated that the Triton II's come in a large box and he would have problems selling these speakers out of box. He stated that they could write something in if really needed but that he was also willing to drive the store display models to our home and test them.

I believe that we will suggest both but at the very least only accept them if there is a 30 return policy. He does appear to be trying to help us out by offering the in home test. He also said that he will be happy to adjust our receiver to gain the very best that it can produce. Assuming it will allow over-rides. He said that most receivers that have the microphone self adjust really do not do very good job. For whatever reason I thought the mic would be the best but I can now see how it might only work in some situations.

That is why you need to ask the store if you can return the speakers if they don't sound right in your home with your situation.

DLP blew its bulb after 4 months and just before the in-home demo on the Tritons. We will have to reschedule this after we get a new bulb. I have two on order but it is supprising how long it is taking to get the orders in...


k-lewis - Not a real fan of the Martin Logan lower end lines (They are too directional). The other suggestions; In-wall are out of my price range and we don't want to cut holes in the walls... The Genesis line just looks expensive! Thanks anyway

Since you live in Charlotte and your listening to speakers ( GoldenEar ) at Audio Advice, ask them if you purchase the speakers, have them setup the speakers in your home. You will be able to tell pretty quick if they will work in the room you have chosen.
