I will be trying the setup again here in the next few days. I purchased a SB-2000 pro which should be here in the next day or so.

Congratulations , I probably won’t build another diy sub they are too hard to build I needed a friends help . Plate amp was near $300 so I paid around $600 total .
Svs subs are better build then my diy was .
Wish ida used more bracing...
it’s too loud for my tastes .. also

Wonder who buys this overpriced brand ? SUNFIRE SunFire XTEQ Subwoofer EQ Dual 12&quot https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UVYD0HU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_CMv9Fb6V683S6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

In-Ceiling as Surround Question.

Received a recommendation from an installer about in-celling speakers. Considering In-ceiling speakers that have an angled tweeter that can face the listening area or the back wall. Since my couch is right up against the back wall, he suggested I can use these type of speakers as surrounds but point them at the back wall so the surround effects bounce off the wall and back to the listening area.

Does that make sense? Has anyone tried that and can comment? What effect would that have? would that give me the same surround experience as bipolar speakers on a wall or bookshelf on stands?

No it will NOT be the same experience as Bookshelves.

Ok. Will it be bad and a waste of money?
That's a hard question to answer. Is there any way you could get in front of an in ceiling system? But then again just like auditioning speakers anywhere else when you get the speakers home they sound totally different. That's a hard question to answer. Would I do it again probably.

Only place I can probably get even close to an in-ceiling demo would be a local Best Buy Magnolia store. But they dont have the speakers Im interested in. AND certainly they would not have the angled versions.

You a Mets fan? You got a good one from us. Lindor.

Based on previous discussions on this forum, advice was to stick with the same brand as my fronts. Which are PSB. So for me, that would be these PSB In-Ceiling. This installer was not particular, however. When I mentioned angled tweeters, he suggested the "point them at the back wall and let the surround sound bounce back to the listening area".

I have my speakers angled and aimed at my listening positions my back wall is not a flat wall. It has lots of angles like an accordion so maybe the application on a flat wall might be different.
After you have them installed you can try both positions to angle directly at the listening position or to angle off the wall for reflection to the listening position. You can try both and see which one works for you.
