Motorcycle books? I am giving a friend my service manual for a Honda CRF450R because I sold the bike. In 1975 Harley made a bike I was interested in. It was a 250cc motocross bike.

Guys I need to understand 5.1 media. How do you know if a DVD is 5.1? Is there a icon showing that?

Most movie cases will say it on the back.
Things like 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos, Dts-HD master audio, DtsX.

And then be prepared to not pay attention to half of it. At least.

But knowing which half is difficult for a novice.

All I see is a Dolby logo, but no 3.1, 5.1 etc on DVD cases. I bought (and returned) a Sony DVD player from Walmart. On all DVDs the player's menu would only show 3.1. I ordered a better one from Crutchfield. Will a good player show what type sound it has? Thanks

Hello,

I would like to join this group due to my interest in home theater.

I have owned stereo systems since the 70s. Yes I'm old but still love audio equipment.

My recent interest in home theater is because I frequently am going through receivers. Here in FL we get power surges they seem to defeat surge protectors. I have lost some good ones I forgot to unplug. In order to have a music receiver I had to buy a surround sound receivers. I quit buying new when I lost my new Sony top tier receiver. It is fun searching for working used ones. I have best luck at estate sales.

Two weeks ago I bought a new tv and the installer hooked up the JVC rx-8000 I'm listening to. My living room has speakers for 5.1. It is pretty cool. This sparked an interest to build on this.

I know very little about home theater. Can someone, please recommend a good book I can read.
